Hi! I´ve got one, the De Luxe model. The mechanical parts are fine, good quality, light and confortable to ride. But I find it underpowered. Great on flats. I don´t think it´s on a par with the Kalkhoffs, Gazelles, etc. And it´s not cheap either.

I think that the batteries are 26 Volts & 8 Amp/h
The price is 1500 € for normal edition, and 1800 € for deluxe model, both have the same frame, engine and battery but different components.

A detail of the bh emotion, look at the "8" under "Panasonic"

The Agattu pedelec:

I don't know if the 8 Amp/h battery will cause that you have less power.

Hi, Poppy here:
2 months ago the Spanish representative for K.A. Pro C. told me that they were selling them for 2.400 euros. 50 Cycles can´t sell them in Spain directly, which would have been al most 400 euros cheaper.
I insist, if I were you I wouldn´t go for the BH if you have to deal with long steep hills. But again, if you are in Spain the Pro C. is at least 600 euros more expensive and I don´t think it´s worth that cost compared to the BH.

The unit with the 8 Ah battery is the same one that Gazelle fitted on their Easy Glider model for 2007, but they've switched to the 10 Ah battery for 2008.

The power from the two standard motor units is the same, this showing in the shorter range with the 8 Ah.

Correction_ Just on the phone with the Spanish rep. :The 2 Pro C. models(I asked for the step thru) are 2.800 and 3.200 euros. With those price tags they aren´t going to sell many...!

I tried to order a Pro-connect to 50 cycles but they reply "there are Kalkhoff representatives in Spain". An e-mail to Kalkhoff told me that he's "Bicicletas Esteve". They work whit two shops in Madrid "Karacol sport" and "A Golpe de Pedal".
In 50cycles pro-connect cost around 2000 € but all included (Vats and 150 pounds for the deliver). In Spain it costs 2500 € and wait at least one month.
I found also Tienda bicicletas BTT Carretera ciclismo - Tenda bicis BTT i carretera in Spain (Gerona), they sell the pro-connect 2008 (two months ago) by 2200 (applying 10% discount) plus delivery costs not included (~ 50 €).
3200 € for the second generation pro-connect is too much, I have to left in the street at work, I will be worried, when it rains ...

So I`m looking also for folding bikes I'will ask you Poppy if you known about some spanish folding model.
I tried "monty ef38" tested in Extraenergy, It liked me but it should have gears for going faster.
regards

Try Tucanobikes or Cyclotek. As I´ve posted the new prices of the Pro C. here in Spain make my BH now look great! With the discount it cost me 1650 euros.

Hi, here again.
Just phone with my local bike shop and they sell the bh emotion deluxe model for 1650 € after applying a discount (1800 € was the original price tag). The same price as Poppy.
I's a "bargain" after knowing the price for the 2009 kalkhoff models for Spain.
cheers

If you buy the BH let me know your impressions. Nobody in Spain is going to spend that money on the K.A. knowing that no matter the motor one has to pedal..!
By the way, where do you live? I´m in Ferrol, La Coruña.

Hi Poppy, I have an e-mail from a Flyer importer in Spanish, they are "In bicycle we trust", his web don't work now, the prices are:

Flyer C5 2.635,59 €
Flyer C8 2.782,27 €
Flyer T8 2.782,27 €
Flyer Plegable 2.774,01 €
Flyer S-SerieUrban 3.671,52 €
Flyer Carbono 4.361,93 €

They don't import the speed bikes (more than 25 km/h),
In november they'll have a place near "El Retiro" park in Madrid and you can test this bikes.

I can´t justify buying another Ebike so soon. And, more important, I won´t buy another bike till absolutely sure that it is much more powered than the BH. But thanks all the same.
If you are fit and not in a very hilly area, the Cytronex could be your bike.

thinking about BH emotion

This weekend I could ride a Giant Twist (year 2008) and a national made bike "monty" e-45. In both when I wanted to go faster than 25km/h I had problems with the cadence, I had to pedal very quickly. This bikes are designed to travel at 25 km/h, even with human power.

I wonder what happends with BH bike (28''). It has a cassette 13-26T and a 41 teeth front gear, the relationship is 41/13 = 3,15, so you have 3,15 * 2,23 m = 6,8 meters each time you pedal. It means 6,8 * 3,6 = 24,5 km/h with a cadence = 60 r.p.m = 1 revolution per second.

I think 60 rpm isn't a fast cadence but I'm not sure.

Poppy, with your "BH" bike, can you ride faster than 25 km/h on flat, easily?, or it's necesary to pedal very quickly.

I think that also it's possible to change the cassette with a 11 teeth sprocket.
regards

Sorry, I can´t help you there, ´cause I am a slow rider. My worries come with the hills. Anyway when I´ve pedalled fast i didn´t reach 20 km/h. It seems to me that you have to be a very fast pedaller to go over 25 km/h even on flats.
Haven´t you tried out the BH yet?
