I'd only ridden 26" wheels before, but I like the ride on 700C/28" wheels for their speed, especially on long distance rides :): a motor for a 700C wheel with the addition of lower motor gears would work even better, and you'd benefit even more than me & many others from that in your hilly area, I think? :)

A T-bike with a 2 or 3 geared motor could be at least as efficient as the Q-bike at the same speeds, even in your area, don't you think? (Not that you'll be using it at the same speeds much now ;) :D).

It would be better than at present, but could never reach the Q bike if it retained the over 20 mph capability. The trouble is that in a hilly area there's a lot of time spent in the 12 to 17 mph region, a higher consumption area and well short of the point of maximum efficiency.

The Q bike performs on the same hills at only just below those speeds but much further away from it's highest consumption region and near or right at it's point of maximum efficiency. All I lose is the motor drive to 22 mph, it finished by about 16 to 18 mph depending on state of charge.
