Just checked and (folllowing the return of some kits) at last Alien are showing all their bikes and pricing. Typhoon looks closest to old GSII at £1k.

And there's a cheeky new "off road" 350w rear hub  called the Aurora at the same price. Frame sizing sounds big though for those with short legs:(

And they've got a trike after I gave up waiting:mad:

The Aurora looks interesting even though its illegal...price seems good for the spec ;) although the battery is underrated for the 18A controller.... It will give very short range and take a quite a pummelling on hills which won't be good for life...just the sort of terrain its aimed at...a bit of a mismatch IMHO.

Like the look of the new handle bar controller even though it looks a bit awkward when mounted, the integrated on/off switch is a nice touch though...

Curious decision to market an illegal road bike without the option a legal version. Surely a GS111 version with a 250w motor would be a better way of building on the good reputation that Alien have built up from happy owners of the GS1 and 11's on this forum.
I wonder if one is in the pipeline?

does 8" really matter?

I think the Typhoon is the new GSII so no need for a legal Aurora.

What troubles me is the size. My PCS saddle is 36" off the ground and my short legs inside are c.30". Alien say a 5' 9 rider should be ok but I'm just over that and their seat height is 40-44"

The frame looks to be the same design as my GS11, I'm 6' 1" with c33/34" inside leg and I have the seat pin just over max which gives a seat height of just over 42". My wife at 5'7" can ride it with seat pin at lowest.
The larger frame rise was one of the key reasons for buying it, the Typhoon looks tiny in comparison, like most ebikes, severly limiting the market.
Why do so few manufacturers of ebikes offer different frame sizes?

That's odd because I wouldn't go higher tham the current 36". How long are your wife's legs!:D
