Probably best to adopt the old adage fro the present, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It is infuriating, could be temperature related, certainly my area is much warmer today, if so in turn inferring lubrication related.

I'm inclined to agree regarding leaving well alone.

I'd not considered temperature, but I suppose if the pre-packed grease is starting to break-down or harden a rise in ambient temperature might just ease things enough to make the fault go away. It is certainly warmer here today than it was last week and enough time has elapsed for the higher temperature to soak into the gear mechanism.

A burst of warmer weather which at last seems to be in prospect could soften the grease enough to effect a permanent cure by redistributing it. A summer week of of over 30 degrees C would be ideal.

Or... point a fan heater at the hub for a couple of hours.
