Bought one from Aldl/Lidli about 3 years ago, works fine with my Raleigh Motus , which is not super light .Also handy in DIY when a third hand is needed .
That's a good point. I use a music stand for support while sawing long objects - it's way overengineered for holding sheet music. The steel platform swivels horizontal.

Well worth the twenty quid I paid .
That's some inflation! Does the extra leg really cost that much? Found 5p while exiting Aldi (I spotted it directly under my hand while strapping the stand to my hand cart, picking it up might technically have been theft. It was a difficult decision, but times are hard. Despite getting away with it, I'm rightly feeling wracked with guilt and deeply ashamed, and may return this 5p to Aldi, turn myself into the authorities and face the full wrath of the law, gaining a criminal record ), therefore this stand (currently) cost me £29.94, but even so...

got the Aldi £5.99 waterproof shoe covers today as my Vaude ones were shredded after another hard winter, impressed
Cheers for the headsup! Those looked great, so got the last pair available last night. Much better than the ones I bought from Amazon.

Also bought the cheapo Aldi cycle Hornit horn copy - not as loud, and the sounds aren't as good (just two tones, loud chirpy keening birdlike sound or silly beeo) as the Hornit 140db's, but it'll do for the bike I'm assembling. Although for maximum driver discomfort, I might trigger both horns via the same switch on the Helios.

I just flip my bike upside down - 360 wheelie :)
The problem I found with doing that when I transferred to E-Bikes was having fo remember to fold the display out of the way to prevent it being damaged if contacting the ground.

I have a bike stand but more often than not I use these....

They seem expensive for what they are but I have to admit I use them more than the bike stand and chuck them in a bag incase I get a flat when out riding. So, despite the price I think it was money well spent.

That does look like a good piece of kit, which would help prevent damage due to straight handlebars. Mine are upright so I don't have this issue. I like it though.

Mine balances like that too, but I have to swivel the display around to the underside of the handlebar. Two big aluiminium headlamps on the handlebar provide slightly elevated contact points on the ground, once the bike is turned over. But my back and knees don't agree with that kind of low elevation maintenance anymore.

This incarnation of the Aldi "Bike assembly" stand weighs about 7.5kg, feels strong and stable. I haven't used this bike stand with the bikes yet - if the plastic clamp or other plastic parts break, seems likely they're easy to repair using superglue + baking soda/graphite. The clamp raises so high, it could be used to hold a green screen, or other photographic backdrops.
