sometimes I go down to my local for a few pints on my electric bike.Obviously I would be over the limit if it was my car, but am i still technically in charge of a motorised vehicle being an electric bike so prosecution would follow if anything happened.?

If your bike is a legal electric bike, then it is still a pedal cycle so you can't be banned from driving, have points added to your licence or any of the other things which follow a drink driving conviction. If it is an ilegal electric bike, eg high power, exceeds 15 mph etc, then you leave yourself open to the full weight of the drink driving legislation.

There are offences relating to pedal cycles and alcohol, but I guess they are seldom used these days, if at all. The penalties are much lower than vehicle use whilst under the influence.

I must admit i've had a few shandies on the run back from work.
But if anything it limits what I drink becasue I know if I do drink any more than 2 then the 11 mile commute home will be quite taxing.

However as others have said its defined as a bicycle so you'll just get the normal fines.

Just dont wobble about the place ;-)

Sometimes you go out without the intention of drinking so much, you can forget you came by e bike and cant leave it chained to the pub fence, but its obviosly best to drink as less as possible

Can I just askedwhats wrong with the signiture settings as I want to take away the bottom link but it comes back everytime I remove it?

As others have said, in England you are ok with a legal e-bike, no breathalyser and only the drunk while cycling applies. To get done for that you have to be very drunk indeed.

I like a half a Shandy sometimes. The nice thing is one has the choice. In fact I have noticed that after a couple of Shandy's, I'm a very good rider!!!!Hic. Cough!! Its nice to socialise at the local over a few, and even better when I show my prowess at wheelies in the car park, doughnuts in the snow and the like. Of course I'm wearing Hi Viz at all times so nothing could possibly happen to me!
