I do not know whether Esure give discounts for bicycle alarms or not, as I do not have an alarm myself.

A further advantage of their policy is that, unlike specialist bicycle insurers, they do not specify the quality of lock which has to be used. The only requirement is that the bicycle has to be locked to a fixed object.

Bicycles worth £500 or less are lumped in with the contents insurance without specification and do not as far as I know attract any additional premium. Bicycles and any other valuable items which are worth more attract a separate additional premium of so much per £100.

My post was tongue in cheek Rooel, but it's good that Esure don't dictate lock type, those sort of restrictions being all too common. Their policy setup for bikes sounds very reasonable.
