Since on a lot of hub bikes, the entire right side is a weak point. Like if you drop the bike on the right side, the derailleur gets bent but more importantly the wire can get severed to the motor.
So i was wondering does such a thing exist as a metal skid plate or crash bung which can be bolted onto the frame to take the impact? Maybe via the rack mounts for example. or just strapped on like the Kryptonite lock mounts. Like what you get on motorbikes:

Seems like it would be an easy solution to a potentially expensive accident. I suppose if nothing exists I could just put my other Kryptonite lock mount on the other side of the frame so I can carry both my locks down by the axles on either side.

The aluminum stunt pegs on the link above are some times available in the pound shops. They won't fit hub motors.

This is what came with my Ezee kit:

It's a complete U shape and has a slot that fits over the axle, behind the wheel nut. Perhaps you could get one made.
Or, this is what's on the wife's Big Bear:

Maybe Whoosh might be able to sell you one?
