Your pic of the motor cable connector isn't a std pin layout, so if you are going to think about changing the controller and battery, you will need to cypher the 9 pin outs and what colour goes where. You would have to reuse the main motor cable to the controller and either solder or via connection block wire to the new controller motor wires. A clearer pic of the 9 motor wires at the controller end would help.

The three phase wires speak for themselves and should be Blue, Green & Yellow.
The other 6 thinner hall sensor wires are often not to bad but some brands may use different colours, typically Red & Black are the 5v & Gnd supply, White a speed wire and the other 3 are the main hall and are usually Blue, Green & Yellow as well.

If buying from UK via a friend then it is better to buy via ebay or even China via Aliexpress or Topbikekit, If you can't buy from amazon then I would look elsewhere.

Nothing is straight forward as you will need to be able to solder some wires together and heat shrink them or be able to make sound connections using connectors.
For instance as mentioned the motor connector isn't a normal China one we see on Bafang , Mxus, Aikema and many other hubs so Btwin have gone with something non std, however as long as one keeps the main motor cable and connection the tails at the controller end can be joined to the controller wires if we know/ can cypher the correct colours. So worth knowing all of this before buying anything.

Alternately one takes the easy option and just stick to 24v, though you will certainly be better off at 36v in the most part.

Yes one would expect them to be all 250w from Btwin, does the motor or bike not have a label/plate ?

As mentioned up on one of the posts we need to see the colours of the 9 pin motor cable to cypher them first then adding a controller should be easy with soldering skills. A lot of controllers which vendors sell use the 9 pin Julet waterproof connector, one can buy a male cable connector with wire tails so quite easy to solder your motor wires to.

The hub label clearly say's 250w.
An unusual hub connection but sound and would save motor wire damage that can occur as it enter the hub axle.
Trace the connector/cable that connects to it, it will terminate at the controller with the 9 wires.
