Hi Pedelecs
I own a Yosemite Bike with a Hub Motor located in the Rear Wheel with the following original parts
- Hub Motor: SYH2S36700CRL1860YS1 with a 6 Pin Connector (Manufacturer is to me unknown, maybe you know?)
- Motor Controller: Tianjin Santroll
- Display: Simple rebranded Display (probably from Tianjin as well)
Now there a a couple of reasons to why I would like to change the Motor controller and Display (increase speed and org. display buttons surface is cracked so water can get into the electronics)
I have tried to do my homework but seemingly not good enough as I bought a XLD Brain power controller model 866C-6 + Display S866 and have tried to hook it up to my Hub Motor.
Status is that I have hocked it up to my Battery, HUB Motor and PAS sensor. I have gone through the settings and done a setup to the best of my knowlegde is correct
Result is that I can get the motor to run when i set the controller in learning mode or when using the "walk mode" (press - key for a couple of seconds)... But this is where the fun endsand the trouble begins. As my Hub Motor only have 6 pins i strongly suspect that my motor is a Sensorless HUB motor without Hall effect elements (Hub Motor has 3 thick wires, Green, Blue, Yellow and 3 thin wires Red, White and black) and i suspect that the 3 thin wires are "just" a speed sensor....
Know I thought that these modern controllers could do both modes (sensor and sensor less) but know I'm in doubt and the internet is not too open about the capabilities of the XLD Brain Power controller.
So give it to me bluntly. Does the XLD brain power controller model 866C-6 support Sensorless operation?
Please see pictures beneath
Thanks for your help
