Advice on change of drive type

Hi all,
I am hoping the hive mind can give me some advice please?
After three happy years with my Woosh big bear I decided it was time for a change.
For any one thinking about a Woosh Big Bear.
Just do it you will not regret it. (Except if like me it turns out to be a gateway bike into an addiction). If you had told me five years ago that my fat 55 year old self would be grinning whist pedaling I would have laughed at you.
After a visit to my LBS and an offer I could not refuse I now own a Cube Mid drive bike with the Bosch motor.
After a mis-judged decision on the route home from the shop I found out just how good disc brakes are.
They stop a lot quicker than a fat bloke. That is until said fat bloke hits the ground. :)
Any how. I dusted myself of and rode the rest of the way home.
Once my rib cage has repaired itself, the bruises faded and the grazes disappeared I cannot wait to get back on it.
So I would appreciate any advice or pointers from the collective on the best way to adapt to using a mid mount motor after coming from a hub drive.
Many thanks in advance.

Just treat it like a normal unpowered bike. When you stop pedalling, progress stops. So to slow down you just stop pedalling and apply your brakes the required amount, just as you would on a normal bike.

Basically just forget you've got the mid motor, it's only there to make you seem much stronger than you really are.

what a strange question. surely this issue is with brakes that are better than you're used to.
Not really. I found out about the brakes :)
My query was how to adjust my riding style to adapt to a different power source. The hub drive allows me to set off under throttle and then start to pedal where as the mid doesn't. It's a long time since I rode an "ordinary" bike so basically I was looking for refresher advice on how to correctly use the gears.

What's that often used term, "like riding a bike" I think we'll have to agree to disagree on the need for the question. Flecc gives a perfectly good response of course.
