Hi All,
I could do with some advice please, Does anyone on here run a BBS02 with a 52v battery? Is it safe to run this motor at that voltage?
I have no experience with mid mount motors, My kit at the moment is the Kirby ebike kit ( 29er MTX39 rim kit on a Cube 29er hardtail ) so i was looking for any help possible to guide me with my next purchase choice.
My idea is to strip the kit off of the Cube 29er , Keep the 52v battery that came with it and buy either the BBS02 or the BBSHD kit to fit to another 29er bike i have.
The new bike has Thru axles front and rear, a more modern 1X11 transmission and is a bit more up to date than the Cube, due to having a thru axle on the rear i cannot transfer the Kirby kit onto it, plus i would like to try a mid mount motor on my next build.
I would sell the kirby kit ( Hub motor wheel, cassette, controller, throttle and display, basically everything except the battery) and put that money to a new mid motor, I believe the BBS02 is smaller in physical size , 4 lbs lighter but less powerful and about £250 + cheaper.
Can it be run at 52v safely?
Or do you advise the BBSHD? but that is at least £700+ when you factor in the shift sensor and a bling ring.
All opinions and advice welcome please.
Thanks in advance .
