I purchase a used bike with yose power pedal assist kit installed. The controller has plenty of 3 pin inputs and im sure this bike had a throttle on it at some stage. I purchased a 3 pin throttle but nothing..... is this even possible to do.. is there a setting I must select on the Display? Ive attached photos. Thanks51879

Throttle julet connector will be the single Yellow , the other Yellow pair together will be the brakes sensors. You may have to buy a Yose throttle as the wire sequence may be different to most other throttles.

Cant it just be cut and wires swapped and electrical tape back? Cheers

Have you tried the settings?
Those for the C500 display are listed here:-
Download (yosepower.com)
Worth printing off for future reference.
Go into "general settings" (hold down SET for 2 seconds).
Then go into "advanced settings" (hold SET and MINUS for at least 10 seconds - until SET flashes on display)
Use the SET button to scroll through until you get to HND (4.2.4 and 4.2.5).
I set both of of these on "N" and the throttle works as a "full throttle".
From the controller label it looks like a 350w. kit? If so you can also adjust the top speed in general settings (4.1.2.).
Be careful to ensure that the Speed Sensor Selection (4.2.1) stays on 1 while you are in the settings. It's easy to inadvertently change this to 6 - and your MPH readout will be wrong.
How do I know this? :rolleyes:

The throttle in your photo does'nt look like a Yose one? If not it may not work

Joining wires and leccy tape is not a great idea on ebikes , if cutting off connectors then only three wires so solder and heat shrink each wire separately, and if you slide a 8mm dia piece up the main wire first it will cover all three smaller ones when done.

Other option is to open the throttle and probe the wires to see what the sequence is , 5v or not on the Black and Red will give you the answer . If sequence is wrong simply solder the throttle internal wires as they need to be going by the meters reading.
You may find the White signal wire may be the 5v or Gnd instead or one of the others is wrong.

I see you have a three power level controller - normal, eco and power . I didn't notice that on a Yose kit before. Do you know how it works?

The indicator changes when you alter the PAS level.
Eco = PAS 1 &2
Normal = PAS 3 & 4
Power = PAS 5.

Ok wiring on Throttle is correct and tested working properly but still not working. So its either a setting of this control box is not able to take a throttle. I cant find any information about it unfortunately

One other thing. I dont have break sensors attached... this would hardly disable throttle input would??? Thanks

Did you try looking at the settings as in my post #4?
The throttle should still work without brake sensors.

Yes changed both settings to n.

I could be wrong but once throttle is wired right shouldnt it just work. They are very easy design and work similarly feedback voltage from a hall sensor. If tested on meter. Wiring is correct for yose and throtle feeding back increased voltage when pushed.

Unless there is something magic happening in Yose power sensor or its using a different hall sensor to the 49E.

Thanks

That's very interesting, as it's new. It's much better than the old way, where you had to set it at the start of your journey. So now you only have 5 levels of assist instead of 18.

What does 2.4.4 mean?

I went into advanced settings and change HND to Y for voth HND settings. Is there another setting?
Read the instructions I linked in post #4. There isn't a 2.4.4. The throttle HND settings are 4.2.4 and 4.2.5. They should both be set to N, not Y.

I have the same Yose controller but it's not fitted to a bike at present.
A thought (as I can't remember how the system worked when I was using it), are you trying to use the throttle from a standstill or to use it once you're moving?

On the bike I'm using now the throttle works without pedaling. On other bikes you need to pedal first to "activate" the throttle. You might find your throttle works fine but not the way you expect it to.
Hope it helps.

Other info:
My kit is the same as yours and works fine with a throttle ), I've used it with 2 different throttles with no problems.
2 of your yellow connectors are identical, these are for front & back brakes. Your remaining "odd one out" connector is for the throttle ;)

Hi could you private message me to help please with settings since you have same kit. Thanks

Ive tried settings but nothing seems to work. On your yose kit. Did you need to pedal first to activate throttle? Thanks

Ive only been testing it on a bench setup up. Throttle appears to be wired correct and is testing good on meter. Voltage changes as throttle is moved.

Im really at a loss... unless the genuine yose power throttle uses a different hall sensor.

All throttles work the same. There are no different hall sensors. The signal should be around 1v at zero throttle and 4v at full throttle. The controller tests for the zero throttle signal at start up. If it's too high, say 2v, it won't allow power until it sees a zero throttle signal, say less than 1.5v.

There are settings in the LCD that enable and disable the throttle and/or make it depend on pedalling, so you have to set it correctly.

Is your motor connector in ALL THE WAY TO THE LINE, not just in tight?

At zero im getting .8 v and full just over 4 v. Wiring is corect. Signal to signal on control box and vcc and ground.

Motor works fine and engages with pedal assist, but nothing when press throttle.

Settings in the LCD are wrong then.
