Sorry, I got mixed up. I thought I saw the 13.7A on the controller. If the motor's rated at 13.7A, maximum current should be about 27A. The problem with the rating of controllers is that it's a bit meaningless. There's significant difference between ones rated the same. I guess then that the motor's rated at about 350w, so you need a 350w rated controller.

How about the lithium batteries - will I get a better range with them?

(anybody else feel free to answer my barrage at Dave - I feel slightly guilty for bombarding him with so many questions. Only slightly though)

Whether you get more range depends on how big they are. The bigger they are, the more expensive they are. Ones the same size as your SLAs will take you a lot further.
