Winter is here.

A lovely muddy 16 mile night ride on the mtb. :)

It doesn't seem to matter where I ride around my neck of the woods, including on the South Downs, the elevation gain always seems to end up between 100ft per mile to 120ft per mile. It would be interesting to know what the national average is.

Possibly one of the last rides on the old girl.

Ordered a bms and pure nickle H strip with weld slits from Ann power on Aliexpress, very impressed with the service 9 days delivered using normal post.
Also just had a refund back from Aliexpress as an item never materialised, so much easier and more efficient then fleabay.

 I may have been dismissive of the fleabay process.
I opened a complaint in the resolution centre about an undelivered item last night and this morning received a full refund :).

Maybe an identified dodgy source to get that quick a refund, seemingly without a full check?

As a seller I see the problem from the other side.. here are two of my best.. Buyer complained item never arived and rathar than tell me so I could send a replacement, he opened a case demanding a refund. I sent a refund because thats my guarantee, but, 9 months later he bought another, jovially informing me he had lost the first one!
Another buyer opened a case saying item arived damaged and wanted a refund. He sent photos of the package and contents cut in half saying it was so well packed in a paper envelope that he had to cut it out with scissors thereby destroying the contents and it was my fault because I packed it too well.
As a seller, once a case has been opened the money is locked out of your account until an agreeable resolution is reached, and if not ebay stepps in and decides for you. (usually with the buyer). Its becoming common for buyers to try it on by asking for a partial refund gambling the seller will give in to avoid bad feedback.

In the two cases above I opened the disputes because both sellers blanked me after emailing them first.

i get my money back and keep the item ;) listed as adjustable but was not told them this yet still put up the same listing even tho i told them it is not with pics and specs so just asking for it imo
Thank you for confirming

To avoid any further inconvenience we would be happy to issue a refund without the need to return the item. In exchange we kindly ask that you leave us positive feedback on eBay. If you are happy to proceed, please leave the feedback, let us know once done so and I can then show this to management and have the refund processed without a return.

I look forward to hearing from you

Kind Regards

If I was sure the item was not as described and the seller sent me that message I would report them to ebay. You cant offer a refund dependant on receiving posssitive feedback on what seems to be a not as described item.
The reason they dont want it back is that if you return it through the ebay returns system stating not as described and are sure beyond doubt that this is the case then the seller has to pay your shipping costs no matter what is in their T&C's. And, these shipping costs can be substantial!
Although in this case I suspect you are happy to keep it!

The last and only time I got my bike in such a state without mudguards I found the underside of the saddle to be absolutely caked in mud and grit.. How come yours appears to be all clean and pink?

I hadn't noticed that. I can only guess that it might be one of two reasons, or both of the following.

I'm still running summer tyres, so perhaps not so much muck is thrown up.

Also, the ride speed is comparatively quite slow, so maybe not so much muck is thrown up.

I wish that I could have said the same of an eMTB ride last week. I went through a dog egg, that covered the bike, my Camelbak, and me. I'd happily see every dog shot dead if I had my way!

Didn't know dogs laid eggs.. once on the towpath feeding the ducks with a small child I asked him if he knew where eggs came from. He said yes they come from the shop...
But back to the dog eggs.. I assume they are not palatable which would explain why they are left in small black plastic bags..
I wonder what they hatch into....

As a cyclist I did get one shot dead by its owner, so a small victory.

Of course the antipathy is both ways, numerous dogs chase cyclists with murderous intent, and that's why the one above was shot.
