Wow.
And I thought it's just get a gun n shhot em
A telescopic scope with cross hairs for accuracy and a head shot for a good clean kill, even vermin require a good end rather then sufferance.
If required get a night scope for the dark.

I have a Webley Tempest .177 which will seriously hurt a rat at 10 metres. I wanted a .22 barrel for it but that would seriously hurt a human being at 10 metres and requires you to be a policemen or other handgun permit carrier... Back on the farm it was a 12 gauge for rats, possums, rabbits, hares, mallard ducks...

Yes I can put a slug in a 2 cm diameter circle at 10 metres :)

you can buy any gun you want as long as you have a use for it when you apply for the licence.

so if you wanted a 50cal say there is a club in the uk you could join to them you can put that on the licence when you apply.

there are also plenty of gun clubs you can join for lower cal fire arms.

if you have ur own land like ebikes then you can get a shot gun easy or a flair gun if you have a boat and go out to sea.

Unlucky, we in the UK are OK with .22 and up to 12 ft/lbs pressure without permit.

N.B. Crossed with Neale's post.

Rifles yes in France, handguns no.

A .22 Webley Tempest within 2 metres range and with the right ammunition is plenty enough to kill someone with one shot.

if you can get a section 1 fire arms licence you can buy machine guns hand guns ect as long as you have a reason to own one in the first place that will be on the licence.

My AA S400, complete with skeleton stock as I am cack-handed. I too use the Rowan mag mod, very handy. Scope is Leaper, which although not as crisp as say a Bushnell, is still very good and all I need for pigeon headshots.2018-08-08 06.44.46.png

Not what I envisioned at all. seems like a massive overkill for the odd rat that wanders into my garden.

I believe pistol limit is 6ftlb , rifle 12ftlb in UK and in France it's 20 ftlb for rifle before certificate required.???? (mate in France told me this so not sure) Not sure about pistol limit in France.

Best Air rifle I had was BSA Air sportier . 22. supposedly 12ftlb but sure it was more. Had a pump up which could be way more powerful if you had inclination to pump the damned thing up. Also had a little bolt action garden gun (,no license needed then not sure now) that fired 9mm shells containing 6 or so ball shot. Close range was better than Airporter... More than 10yds was useless. Forget pistols. More dangerous and crap.
Mate has a CO2 fancy looking thing. (!looks like an AK47) Repeats about 20 shots but I don't think it's 12ftlb.He reckons it is. Not a patch on Airporter, which could and did kill rats at 30yards. We used to reckon if airgun could smash an old milk bottle it would kill a rat..Rats a bit harder to hit tho. Air pistols we came across would bounce off milk bottles from 3ft...Had one of those Webley things with barrel over cylinder.. Was best of bunch.
