same as with any forum, there is always one who has to say something irrelevant. they enjoy belittling others as the sound of their own voice is more important to them than the matter at hand.I am now losing the will to live......
John did, but it was never paid:Why did you not accept the refund ?
I was eventually promised a full refund from the guy, as it became apparent that he could not supply what he had promised. This refund never materialized, and I am still in possession of the goods.
I couldn't agree more. In hindsight it was a bad buy, and certainly did not represent particularly good value for money even in full working order. At the time I needed a bike in a hurry for a relation, and as I thought I had a good relationship with this guy, I ordered one from him.John, it was your purchase, so it's your decision whether to pursue the matter.
The fact is that the bike should have been in full working order with some battery life left at that £300 price. It will probably only have cost in the region of £650 or a little more new.
If for example it is a fairly recent one at only 3 or 4 years old and in full working order, a fair price second hand without batteries is about £225 to £250, or with Powabyke supplied new batteries just fitted, £350 to £375.
Until very recently the SLA batteried version of this brand new full suspension e-bike was in ebay at £300 "buy it now", which puts this into perspective, as does the advert by forum member Fecn a short while ago selling two of them in perfect working order with sound batteries at £175 each.
I would guess just the one. One of his bikes - I can assure you - is more than enough for anybody to handle!!!There is even something strange and ambiguous about his ad on ebay. There is a photo of about five bikes, and he says what you see is what you get. That implies you are bidding on a job lot of 5 bikes. But if you look under "sellers other items", each of these bikes are listed separately. So are we bidding for 5 bikes, or just one ?
I dont doubt these are worth bidding on for someone who knows what they are doing with bikes. There must be enough spare parts there for someone to strip down and make a tidy sum selling them individually or to save a fortune keeping back-up parts.@john a. I sympathise with your plight, and I do hope you either get a refund, or get the bike fixed. What I was thinking is if you could buy one of those bikes for, say £40, and like me you run a Euro, it could still be a bargain as spares. If you gained just a motor wheel that either works or is repairable, you have got your money`s worth, and then there are things like tyres, rear wheel, mudguards etc. If I lived closer I might have a punt. Actually, I am looking for a spare battery box, and have been quoted £50.

Indeed. And I contributed myself to some of his positive feedback, as I was happy with transactions with him through Ebay. Of course, you must realise that he has an interest in maintaining good relations with ebay customers, while private buyers have no such privilege, and no option to leave bad feedback. You come on here attempting to damage someone's reputation over a civil matter, entirely between you and another party. We are only hearing one side. This chap has over 3000 transactions and 100% positive feed back..You seem to have little interest in doing anything about the situation except stirring things up IMO
