So had a chance to do some proper testing today with the new Ping 15Ah battery and the KU65 controller from BMS.
Looks like the controller is setup for a 201rpm motor (I have 185) so top speed was poor, however with the speed limit wire undone it cruises comfortably at about 16-17mph with pedal assistance - excellent!
Stats from the Turnigy on the 8.28mile ride (mostly light downhill with tailwind on the way there, vice versa on the way back as same route) were 2.263Ah / 15' 27" / 88Wh / 13.91Ap / 38.40Vm / 551.7Wp which works out at 0.27Ah per mile giving a theoretical max range of around 55 miles. I will be happy if I can get to and from work without charging at work on days when I do my full commute (normally I use a park and ride which is 15 miles return, some days I go from home which is 38 miles return) as the charger is really noisy!
I've attached a few pictures of the bike with the new Ping battery rather than the original 8fun bottle battery. I've also added some Schwalbe 2.35" Big Apple tyres - they are excellent, give a much better ride given the lack of suspension.
