Above bike was due to arrive at 50cycles yesterday, but Tim at 50cycles told me (12.30pm) that due to manufacturing delays (unspecified) this frame size (at least) should arrive next week.. Has anyone got any up-to-date news /further details about a delivery date/time? It would also be good to know who has ordered this size, (I ordered early December) so that we can track and chase together.

Frustrated and concerned:(

57cm Agattu

I ordered my 57cm diamond frame Agattu at about the same time in December.
I emailed 50 cycles a few days ago and they have stated that they are not expecting them until the last week of march with possible deliverery the first week of April.

As frustrated as I am, I do realise they may be manufacturing difficulties out of their control, would have been more appreaciative if I was kept more up to date with the whole aspect.

Still very much looking forward to its eventual arrival.

53 cm Diamond Frame Agattu

I ordered mine on 30th January, paid the full amount and have heard nothing from 50cycles regarding delivery.
I wonder if having 4 different frame sizes to manufacture just for this model and the sudden demand for Panasonic motors is adding to the delay?
I must say I find it a little disconcerting that ther is still no photos of this bike to be found on Kalkhoff's website Kalkhoff - my bike... Vollgefederte und sportgefederte Trekkingbikes, Citybikes und Offroadbikes or anywhere else. This would suggest that none have been manufactured yet.

Sorry Andy and Aldby, it's the 49ers I'm trying to track down, as the promise was on delivery of those first, week one March.

I had another thought on this (purely speculative) frustrating and depressing wait for the diamond, as it were. Due to the possible shortage of panasonic motors, as Flecc mentioned, could Derby Cycles be considering significanly reducing the number of models and sizes available and are now focusing on Pro-connect production only for diamond frame bikes.

After their visit to the Derby/Kalkhoff head office and production site a couple of weeks ago, surely 50cycles must have a reasonable idea about whether the 49cm diamond Agattu is even close to ready..Any thoughts folks?

Frustrated and disappointed (again)

when I asked about switching to a ProConnect they were expected at the same time, which makes me think all are similarly delayed if the delay is true or that 50C don't know.

Hi All

Sorry to announce that yes there has been another delay in the arrival of the pro connect that was set for production date yesterday, the panasonic motors did not arrive in time for this date. However I can assure that everyone will receive there bikes by week 16. Some models in week 11 such as the Agattu Gents 49cm with other models arriving between weeks 11-16.

All I can say is sorry, we understand exactly how those waiting are feeling, but really these bikes are worth waiting for and we will hold the discounted price until they are well in stock. The reports back from those lucky enough to have a step thru has been fantastic, so we are very confident, excited and still really cannot wait to see the Gents Agattu like everybody else.

Although this news is dreadful, the timing has actually been perfect for our company having lost our main storage facility 2 weeks ago we have just found the perfect premises in a good area that we will be comfortable in having a signed building with plus a decent car park, demonstration area and close the railway station. This will be ready just in time for our first delivery with plenty of room to stock all models throughout 2008.

We will be sending a newsletter out this week to confirm the ETD of all models listed. However if anyone needs more information of their individual order we will be glad to help on 0844 800 5979 please call me if you have any questions.

Best Regards

Scott

Great news that you have recovered from the fire and the new site sounds just the thing from which to kick off the Kalkhoffs. Hellishly annoying for you and those waiting that there is yet another delay. Those of us with our bikes do sympathise with both you and them.

I can confirm with every confidence that the Agattu, which I have had for a month now, is simply superb in every way. Those waiting for a Pro Connect have a very real treat in store. Of course my talking like this only increased their frustration! Never mind folks - the real good weather, when it comes, is going to see roads full of happy Kalkhoff bikers riding into wide wide horizons. :) :)

Loughborough, so I believe.

This afternoon I received a very reassuring email from Tim Snaith, Director of 50cycles who confirmed that the 49cm is expected next week.
Thanks Tim for your prompt response to my anxious enquiry.

There were three once!

The Thomas Cook empire started with a rail excursion to Loughborough, in I think 1841.
The mind boggles.

There's hope for Neasden yet.

Maybe even Solihull.

Well, no big surprise when week 11 arrived with no news, so I asked 50C for an update and in particular if the 49cms have been built. My concern was whether they're still waiting for the motors. The shock news back from 50C is they're built and should be UK bound within the week.....
