2017 KTM prototype....

Due to ever increasing legislation surrounding eBikes and particularly their use on shared offroad trails, KTM have been looking at ways to give riders the performance they are looking for.

So though we'd share this prototype with you. Bosch are quaking in their boots about the lost sales.

video is well worth a watch... the motor, cleverly disguised to look like a dog is very keen to perform.

I don't fancy fitting a dongle to it.

It is rumoured that there will be 3 motor versions.

Version 1 is for the commuter in a city, the motor will be a chihuahua, not a lot of power but small enough to stick in your bag if you need to get on a bus or train when the power runs out.

Version 2 is designed for off road use only, the motor is a Rottweiler, plenty of grunt for climbing the hills.

Version 3, which is expected to be the most popular, is designed for the leisure market. It's a farm reared border collie. Not as powerful as the off road version but it has a more intelligent system which will go all day without running out of power.

Thought the motor a bit noisy at resty, also feared that trees would interfere with a smooth power delivery! Fears unfounded.

great video, very sweet "motor", I also wondered how looking (and sounding) completely daft co-exist so unlikely with staying on track (not bounding off leaving owner under low branch with head trauma)

I think this shows why power cut brakes are important.
Shame I just ordered an oxydrive CST as I could just get my weimaraner to pull me through the woods
