In fact a number of the X6 batteries were actually 4.5 Ah, not 6 Ah, as shown on the cells inside, so that may have accounted for the short range in this instance.

Does it invalidate the guarantee if the battery is opened & what do you see inside ?
On my latest test with a new battery it only lasted 8 mls again The round trip was up hill on full power then free wheeling down whit hardly any power used on the flat

I am 15 stone and my old Agattu easily coped with the same trip with the battery still showing 2 lights, but the Powabyke is lighter , a much nicer ride and the engine push more powerful ,and the cycling gears easier.

I think I will have to compromise and carry the spare battery, but this pushes the price paid for the outfit to £1114

It was another member who opened his battery and saw the cells marked 4.5 Ah Brian, so I don't know the construction arrangements inside. Opening a battery does invalidate a warranty normally.

8 miles does lead me to think that was a small one though, see how you get on with the replacement which should give 12 miles or more with liberal current usage. If it does, it's likely to be the 6 Ah size.
