Well, I have had it for 6 weeks now and absolutely love having an electric bike!
Thanks for the update. Its really useful for other people who are still trying to decide on what to get and where to get it from. Can you fill in the answers to the following for me:

Commute Milage: (as you've done 100 miles so far I guess its about 8 miles? )
Score: (I guess its a 9 or 10 out 10!)
Conditioning Reqd: (Did you have to condition your battery?)
Battery Lock: Does it have one?
Battery Warranty: 1 year/ 2 year? other ..
Recharge Time: (when do you recharge you battery? and how long does it normally take?)
Charger FULL cutoff: When your battery is charged does your charger turn itself off?

Thanks ...

Well, I have had it for 6 weeks now and absolutely love having an electric bike!

I must have done about 100 miles now and have ridden it to work at least once every week, and often more. The hill climbing ability is fantastic and I love racing off the lights with the throttle assist!! I think it's one of the best decisions I ever made to go for this bike...it's ace!

In the interests of fairness, I have had a couple of issues:

Brakes - I'm not the most technically minded person so adjusting them has been a bit hit and miss. I'm thinking of upgrading them to be honest due to the huge hills I have to ride down every day!
Battery - The other small problem I've had is the battery moves around a lot and is very noisy when it does, I am starting to get a little concerned as it seems to be getting worse - any suggestions as to a fix Bob?

Other than that, the main problem has been the weather as I'm afraid I'm a fair weather rider, so not being able to ride the bike to work because of the rain has been a bit annoying.

So far, so good, and thanks to everyone on the forum for your help in getting me going....best thing I ever did!!
Hi Kelly and thanks for letting me know how you're getting on.

Juicybike brakes should work well, so here's a little guidance for adjusting them...

Are you adjusting both inner and outer pad? To do this you need two sizes of allen key as the (hidden) outer screw adjuster uses a smaller allen key than the inner pad adjuster - very easy of course, once you spot the hidden adjuster.

Having some white paper at hand helps you see the distance of the pad from the disk as you look along the disk, with the paper at the far side. You should notice only a tiny gap between the surface of the disk and each of the two pads.

You may like to know that our brake pads are available on our website at only £7.50 a pair - much less than most on the high street!

With the ease of going fast, quickly, electric bikes tend to encourage more braking and so need adjusting quite often.

You should regularly look for loose screws and bolts... and it sounds like the one that secures the battery locking strip has come loose and caused the battery rattle you describe. A Philips screwdriver will fix that once you've removed the battery.

I'm delighted you're enjoying and making good use of the bike, and I'm looking forward to hearing more of your exploits.
