14.000 Miles
After 15 days not riding my 2015 Haibike Yamaha while on my summer staycation holiday in Devon it was back to work on Friday for a late shift duty allowing me to charge the battery and set off at 15:00 for a lovely 14 mile cross country ride to work, and 10 mile road ride home. When I got home that had pushed my total mileage to 13,988.
So my 22 mile round trip ride to work and back yesterday allowed me to pass another threshold in my commuting odyssey, pushing my total mileage above 14,000 miles with 14,010 miles now ridden.
I retire from work in October so I am very unlikely to breach the 15,000 mile barrier before then, but apart from wear and tear parts, (quite a lot of parts really), the bike is how I bought her for the £1,750 price I paid.
I was lucky to get a new motor fitted right on the two year point of the warranty free of charge when the bearings developed play. I am still using the original 400Wh battery.
That means the replacement motor has done 8,000 miles.
Blooming Heather in the Surrey heath land I pass through.
The pictures were taken on my ride to work on Friday 13th of August 2021.
