Tax allowance for cycling to work?

No apparently not. It's some form of actual tax allowance but how it would be checked or verified I can't imagine. My employer won't participate in the cycle to work scheme at present, it's something we're working on.

Tax allowance for cycling to work?

I was told yesterday, as I was showing off the Mistral, again, that the Government are to introduce a tax allowance for anyone cycling to work. The admin guy who told me didn't have any details, but as part of this he was looking at paying quite a lot to convert an old out building into a cycle...

    Synergie G2 Mistral.. a good budget e-bike?

Kal, I think that's exactly the point. You can't grumble at all with the Mistral for the money, it's a great bike and I'm delighted with mine. I haven't used it much in the month I've owned it as I've been on my honeymoon but I'm now using it every day to get to work. It's only a 13 mile...

    Alien Titan or Synergie

My only other experience of e-bikes is the ezee Quandos my parents own. They don't suffer from this at all. Perhaps someone will be good enough to explain it to me ... Lee

    Alien Titan or Synergie

Hi Phil, I've just bought the Mistral which is the one down from the Avantie. I chose it because it's 36v, the Avantie is 24v if I remember correctly. I love the Mistral and have no real problems with it. I've changed a few things like the tyres and removed the dynamo, but as it is I'm...

Could an electric bike pay for itself?

Very nice, I like your thinking. We've already bought the bike, my wife has had her first proper run to work on it this morning and loves it. I'm wondering about my journey now, I do cycle in the summer on a very old mountain bike and the going is very heavy. Now the Mistral has it's...

Could an electric bike pay for itself?

Given that my car returns about 35miles to a gallon on my commute to work, and that the cost of charging my electric bike is almost nil, I'm trying to work out how many miles I need to do on the bike before it has paid for itself in saved petrol. I'm not taking into account things like...

    Some advice please

Thanks for all the help, tyres are now on. I disconnected the power lead inside the controller so didn't have a problem. I'm a bit worried about waterproofing now, the wires etc there seem to be very open to water. Halfmedley, have you had any problems in the rain? Lee

    Some advice please

Thanks. The only other slight problem I foresee is how to remove the back wheel. Is it going to cause me a problem? I haven't had a good look yet but it seems the power to the motor is routed through the axle of the hub.

    Some advice please

Thanks Flecc, a quick look on the web has found a local shop with Continental Sport Contact tyres with inner tubes for £25.00. I think I can stretch to that, if they will make a difference. ;) Thanks for the advice, now all I have to do is fit them. :( Lee

    Some advice please

First of all, great forum. I've been reading the recent posts with much interest. My father pointed me here, he has two ezee Quandos at his home in France and we've just spent two weeks there and used the bikes every day. Great fun. I've been looking to get myself an ebike for a while but...
