Well it's been almost a year so far and fingers crossed. I can't see why the torque of the motor would put any stress on where the part of the frame that's failed fails given the motor and drivetrain are all attached to the rear section of the bike. As others have said the frame issues affected...

sure - I'm not sure anyone is a fan of folding bikes. For me having one was a necessity as I need to regularly stick it in the back of a taxi. I'd have much preferred a bigger bike.

lol. that link doesn't work for me. The part where the frame folds on my bike is pretty chunky compared to older Terns from a few years ago. Hopefully the fails and subsequent recalls have resulted in better design

it's difficult to say - I use the 9.8ah battery the most and full throttle all the time (literally don't pedal) After my 2.5 mile commute to work it's used about 18% usually.

bbshd cadence is 160rpm I believe. Though I had a BBS02 750 on it previously and that wasn't much slower

I doubt 300+ people have put a bbshd on a tern let alone had one fail doing it. Mine is a Verge D9 model and brand new - it seems to be older Link models that had the frame fail - tern had a recall on them - I'll keep monitoring the frame though!! Loving the conversion so far - fingers crossed...

52 x 25 = about 1300 watts

the 52v BBSHD is 28amps max from the factory. according to the eclipse website the battery has max continuous of 25amps but a burst rating of 34amps. . unless you're planning on being at max throttle all the time it will be fine. I have the 52v BBSHD and 2 batteries from eclipse - the 9.8ah one...

28 is what they come with on the 52v BBSHD and 30 is what the 48v ones come with The guy in the video you posted isn't using the stock controller and I don't want to change the stock controller

the amps are set to 28amps which is the max the controller allows (its the 52v version) The bike feels very stable at that speed
