Has anyone heard of or tried Argento bikes?

I do appreciate an elite component, but its not necessary for the kind of thing i want to do. Its more a bike i can use for commuting during the week and do some trails at the weekend. I wont be doing 5ft jumps on it. Dont think i'll see air forks in my budget. As long as they lock out for road...

    Woosh - thumbs up?

How is it for rattles if you are running on something like a rough gravel trail?

Has anyone heard of or tried Argento bikes?

This looks really cheap for a e-mtb with rear suspension. I know its never going to be a Haibike, but wondered if anyone had seen anything from this company and how the quality was. Looking for something to do light forest work for around £1k ...

    Woosh - thumbs up?

Has anyone used the Woosh Zephyr off-road? Its a full suspension folder which would be great for moving around in a car. My current 'full suspension' e-mtb is great on road, but take it off-road and its components rattle like a spanner in a washing machine. I've had to pack out the battery with...

Do ebikes take the fun out of cycling ?

If i was driving then it would definitely be cheaper. Parking charges are terrible. About £8/day here or a day return for about £3/day on the bus, but they are inconvenient. Motorbike parking however is free and it probably costs about 20p in petrol. I (sadly) worked out my break-even point...

Do ebikes take the fun out of cycling ?

I'm sort of on the fence if the e-bike actually saves me money, but its certainly better exercise. The purchase cost and inevitable battery replacement costs are still very high. I've got a little commuting 125cc that does 120MPG, parts cost buttons for it and it cost less than most e-bikes to...

    My bum hurts

I changed mine to a maddison flux. Best £20 i've spent as the stock saddle was evil.

Do ebikes take the fun out of cycling ?

I bought my E-bike as an alternative to using a motorbike to commute. I'd never considered cycling in the past as i didn't want to turn up to work all sweaty and have to deal with changes of clothes etc. When i bought my first e-bike it was a gamble, i thought it might not be for me or i'd only...

Prototype / ex demo / ex display, end of season sale.

Nope, if you go the start of the thread there is a picture. Its the folder with the battery hidden in the frame.

Prototype / ex demo / ex display, end of season sale.

Just taken delivery of the Tornado and first impressions are really good. Seems a solid built little machine and has quite a bit of torque. Great headlight on it too. Only negative so far is the charge point and lock for the battery are in a right PITA location and they don't have a cover so i'm...

Is the battery in the frame on the tornado?

    too much torque

looks like there is maybe access to bolts from the rear..

    too much torque

I will check tonight, but i've a feeling it might be riveted. The cover in front of it doesnt seem to have anything to unbolt, so i'd guess the pedal and crank will need removed to get at it. Will need to look whats needed for that. Plenty of motorbike tools, not so much for bicycles.

    too much torque

Better a few more teeth on the front then than a few less on the back?

    too much torque

haha no, not quite. It does require a lot of effort and perseverance keeping it anywhere near 20mph though. If i'm going to change the sprockets/chain i'd ideally like to increase the gearing at the same time. gears 1-4 are never used and 6 spins out too early.

    too much torque

Will probably have to replace it at some point. Its not slipping or anything. do you think it will snap the chain? They only have 6mths of use on them so not a great lifespan.

    too much torque

other than it being a shimano set i don't know much more. Its likely one of the budget end ones
