Yep - get hydraulic disc brakes for Ebike. It's sometimes hard to predict from specs, not sure the torque figures quoted are always comparable. Would definitely have a ride of a few, even if you have to hire them for a few hours. My sister had a Bosch powered Ebike which has lasted 10 years...

https://ebikesolution.co.uk/blogs/news/sine-wave-vs-square-wave I've got a woosh 20Ah 36v (720Wh) battery that is performing very well after 3 years. (My niece is using it at Uni for getting round Newcastle) I think Woosh make some thoughtful choices on their bike specs, eg the Camino has...

In that case buy a nice secondhand bike off eBay with disc brakes, a frame triangle big enough to put a battery on the downtube, quick release wheels and a square taper bottom bracket and fit an e-bike kit. You can do your own maintenance and upgrade components if you want You need to take...

It might not look the sleekest, but from a practicality, simplicity, ease of maintenance and customer service / long life I would go for https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?camino 540Wh or 612Wh battery options

Setting a speed limit on bafang mid drive

The motor assist stops at 25km/h, just the wheel is accelerating massively with no load so will reach a ridiculous top speed. The motor isn't driving the wheel at that speed, the gearing is 44t/11t

Setting a speed limit on bafang mid drive

I don't think this will ever work, even if the motor stops at exactly 15 mph, an unloaded wheel will be massively accelerating when it gets to 15 mph and the motor cuts out and end up hitting a ridiculous top speed. I tried this with a TSDZ8 , set to 25 km/h max assist speed and the max speed...

Hydraulic disc brakes with ebike cutout

I thought very few off the shelf bikes nowadays had brake sensors E.g https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/cadence-sensor-continuing-to-power.44527/post-667886

Hydraulic disc brakes with ebike cutout

They are also quite useful changing down gears when you come to a junction , where you want to pedal to change gears but don't want the motor to kick in

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Just saying "BBC government propaganda" to anything that uses experts to fact check all the nonsense published on social media isn't an argument

Enjoying riding it unpowered at the minute, find the drop handlebar (with palms facing inward) position really comfortable, much to my surprise. Did my "test route" and I am a lot faster than unpowered folding bike (but not as fast as my folding bike with assist )

Ok, so ended up buying this Boardman Adv 8.6 gravel bike off Facebook for £250, think it was a "Lockdown buy" that hasn't been used. I will ride it unpowered for now and possibly get some cable to hydraulic brakes, TRP HY / RD or Juin Tech F1 s look popular. Maybe do a lightish...

Setting a speed limit on bafang mid drive

I noticed similar behavior on the TSDZ8 that I restricted to 25 km/h. If the wheel is not loaded, then I suspect the wheel is still accelerating when the motor cuts out and reaches a speed much higher than 25 km/h but I still think the motor cuts out at 25 km/h

Thanks both, I'm pretty sure the rear brake mount is flat on this model But not sure about the fork. Will post some pics if I get the bike (it is tempting, but I have to complete the Boarman Hybrid conversion for my friend's wife first ! ) Was thinking of the TRP HY/RD brakes

I have a notion to convert a second hand drop handlebar racing bike or gravel bike. I might use that Arrow cycles again to build the wheel and get the rear hub motor from topbikekit. I was looking and wanted one with aluminium frame , normal bottom bracket, 135mm rear dropouts with qr rear...
