    Sheds for ebikes

Have just been discussing the sense in moving my bike from the garage into a shed of some sort. It would certainly make the garage a bit easier to use and navigate. Especially with the possibility of having a second ebike in the near future... For clarity, we live in a very safe area...

    Opinions and suggestions

Partner was loaned a low-end Coyote Connect ebike. Having tried it, she can't stand it! It feels wobbly. The brakes are rubbish. She hates the tiny wheels. And the riding position is hopeless for her - without sufficient possibility of adjustment or upgrading. But it did concentrate her mind...

    A bit tight...

On Sustrans 4 I came across this rather silly barrier. My handlebars are literally touching both sides. Maybe they are to stop full size motorbikes getting through - but mine is just an ordinary ebike. At the other end of this path, the chromed plates appear to have been removed.

    Imposing Speed Limits

Recently been looking round new cars and have been surprised how many are offering traffic sign recognition systems. (Maybe only top-end models - but quite a number.) Can't help but anticipate people imposing their own speed limits if these systems are unable to distinguish between official and...

    18650 Waterproof Battery Pack Case

Have got a waterproof battery pack for my front light. It works, yes, but I am not exactly thrilled by its life. Thinking about getting a box and bunging some 18650s in it. But the more I look, the less I understand. Keep checking reviews and so many have a mix of awful and wonderful. That's...

    Conversion challenge

Some time ago I visited Blankenberge in Belgium - where they have lots of weird and wonderful cycle-based vehicles, tricycles, quads, hexes, and this monster... Couldn't help thinking that adding some electric traction would be great fun! So long as you were not restricted to 250W - perhaps...

    Painful video

I almost literally felt the impact of this crash. Conwy driver jailed for head-on crash with cyclist This is the moment when a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel ploughed into a cyclist and flung him in the air during a head-on crash. Jake David Tompkinson, of Rowen, Conwy county, was...

    The wind, it doth blow

Mightily. Currently around 50 mph, tomorrow about 60 mph. (But knowing the forecasts, could easily be up or down at least 10 mph.) What wind speed do you duck out of cycling? I really noticed it this evening - definitely harder going and pushing sideways. I'm well aware of issues like falling...

    Charging a Coyote Connect battery

Partner has been given (sort-of) a Coyote Connect folder - two/three years old. Looks to be in excellent condition. The problem is that the owner cannot locate the charger. If we decide to keep it, no problem, we buy a charger, of which there are several readily available. Trouble is two-fold...

    What a good feeling...

Having bought the bike, and the numerous extras needed (lights, lock, helmet, mudguards, etc.), this morning was pencilled in as my first ride-to-work day. Happily, was dry - but pretty cold. Set out, my front light doing everything d8veh promised for it in the dark, no actual ice as far as I...

    Suggestions please!

Partner is considering an ebike. She is about 5' 3" Stepthrough necessary - or possibly a very low trapezium/mixte. Has issues which make a throttle desirable - might not be essential but wouldn't wish to block the option in future. The light operation of hydraulic disc brakes would be...

Hello, good evening and ... happy christmas

I live in extreme south west Wales. Given the loveliness of the area, it seemed utterly ridiculous to drive everywhere - including to work. So I have acquired an ebike and intend to use it for the short distance to work, and for further exploring of the area. Over 60, and very unfit, it will...
