    Folding eMTBs

My Brompton took a load close to what the OP specifies without any bother. Although that was light use in other respects - leisure miles a couple of times a week. No doubt lots of big wheel ebikes could do the same, but I agree about avoiding a rear hub motor. Still plenty of choice of front...

    Folding eMTBs

Bromptons are tough little buggers, they have to be to survive the mean streets of London. Smaller wheels are generally stronger than large ones. I no longer have my Brompton but keep on thinking about buying another one. They are nippy and more fun to ride than a big wheel bike. Ride...

Bosch Performance Line CX Error 500 - Terminal.

Have they offered to send the motor away to at least get a repair quote? I understand they won't have a clue about the motor themselves, but there is now a route to Bosch service via Magura in the UK.

    Folding eMTBs

Have you checked the train equipment used and boarding requirements? Some trains now only have racks which demand the bike to be hung from its front wheel. Not suitable for an ebike, or a loaded tourer come to that. In any event, on and off twice a day every day would be too much faff. You...

EBike curious; but am i too ambitious!?

The OP needs to be careful he doesn't end up being slower. Dragging six kilos of motor and battery along at 20mph+ will not be easy. A more realistic aim, if staying legal, would be to make the journey easier than at present, not faster.

    Help in buying a bike

Anything from a known brand which is designed as a road light, so the likes of Exposure, Cateye or Lezyne. For the sake of other road users, avoid the cheap Cree floodlights sold online. A properly designed light will have a beam pattern that shows you the way, but doesn't dazzle others...

    Help in buying a bike

The lights on the Woosh are unlikely to be sufficient for year round commuting. However, a decent rechargeable set is only about £50.

    Folding eMTBs

They are all dreadful Chinese contraptions which are best avoided. Folding them regularly to get on and off trains is not a realistic possibility. If you must have one, at least avoid the bikes with the especially nasty moulded wheels.

    Help in buying a bike

Parkland is usually fairly flat. If that's the case here, an ordinary push bike is worth considering. In good conditions you could cruise a little above the cut off speed on a lightweight bike with easy rolling tyres. If it has to be electric, Halfords has a range of budget ebikes which look...

Best tyre liners? Prevent punctures 14 inch kenda tyres. Best psi this size tyre?

Cheap tyre liners can do more harm than good because they abrade the tube causing punctures. Tannus has produced a softer and thicker liner which has got several good reviews. However, the smallest size is 20". Your best bet may be better tyres. Fourteen inch is a kids' size, so your problem...

Help! Advice needed on what bike to buy

You may be unfit, but you weigh very little which means you should bowl along well on a legal ebike. You must also be small which will help wind resistance which comes into play increasingly above about 10mph. First decision is really the type of bike you want. A commuter would usually have a...

25 mile round trip commute advice please?

Adjustable stems are not recommended for full on mountain biking. Not that I take issue with woosh on this. Their Rio bike inhabits that world of mountain bikes which won't be used as such. You can see that by the number of inquiries about putting a rack and mudguards on the bike. 'Off road'...

25 mile round trip commute advice please?

The newer range of Halfords cheaper ebikes are surprisingly decent for around £700. Hard to beat at that money. The Carrera at around £1,000 is also worth considering. Ebco also make decent hub motor bikes for the same price which you will find in a local bike shop. A lot to be said for...

Looking to buy first electric bike - have identified two

The KTM has the Wingee combined mudguard and light duty pannier rack. Very neat - if you are prepared to only use pannier bags and don't need to carry bags of cement. The fork on the Scott, as with most in this price bracket, adds weight but little else. The single Headshok on the KTM is the...

Riese & Müller Blue Label Pony Valuation?

It's a truism, but the bike is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Since no posters on this thread are prepared to make you on offer, their opinions are of very limited value, including my own... There is a culture in the UK of new stuff, which means cars and other consumer goodies...

    Bosch (cube) Issues

The lad who did mine told me a home user can get the printout using the Bosch diagnostic dongle. He's done lots, so ought to know. Having said that, it doesn't look like the diagnostic dongle is widely available.

    Bosch (cube) Issues

I had something similar which was fixed by a software update/reboot. Dealer job realistically, although I'm told you can buy the little box to link between your bike and a laptop. The dealer who did it reckons Bosch bikes benefit from a software update every year or so.

Electric Bike number two - requirements

E-bikes Direct in the link appear to have stock of both Gepidas - if you don't mind buying online. There is much to be said for buying from a shop. Is Cromer any good? Electrifying Cycles have a good reputation and post on here occasionally. Looks like they also sell Gepida, along with many...

Electric Bike number two - requirements

Penny's post and her signature tells us she 'loved' the Gepida. Not everyone wants the latest and greatest. Going for a different bike is a risk, because she may not get on with it. I believe that Yamaha motor was known to be reliable, but spares might be a problem long term - if it ever...

Electric Bike number two - requirements

Any trekking style bike - similar to your Gepida - will do the job. You could get another one of those, particularly as you liked it and it's now available for only a little over £1,000. Yamaha have since updated the motor and battery placement to be more like bikes with the ubiquitous Bosch...
