What are giant like reliability wise ? Currently got a Haibike with Yamaha and its been fantastic, but suspect battery getting past its best and fancying full sus. ( mines hardseven)Went to James last week...the Giants seem brilliant for the money...

Its risking it a bit putting presta in Schrader... The tube is not supported at the base of the valve ( the bit you,d have drilled out to fit Schrader) At high pressures the tube could be pushed through the gap ??( IMHO) ie..the hole should be filled by valve...???

I don't get point of presta valves. Is there a single advantage to them ? I find them easier to damage, more likely to collect dirt, harder to seal on pump and usually lose a psi or 2 tightening them back up. What is the point of them ?

On my extended route in next to highest setting on Haibike I get 28 miles... Its a mixed route but with plenty of hard climbs. ( upto Lockerbrook farm above Lady Bower). Mainly wide mtb paths with about 3 miles on road ( Snake pass) I would easily beat this range on road work or easier mtb...

But my motor is peaking at most 500w (???) and neither it or battery are even warm after 20 mins hard slogg uphill...infact I,d hazard a guess battery is cooler than ideal this time of year...I believe Haibike do a neoprene cover for winter use...but £40 for an arm out of a wetsuit with a bit of...

Do you think you can draw 600w out of system ? If that is case I should be able to empty ny battery in 45 mins,?? ( a 400, less if its lost 10% pa, mines nearly 3 yrs old) Today was my shortest battery duration, dont think I could have worked any harder...to draw it down faster...

Does that loss show on your display ? ( ie wont charge above 90%??) I,d read somewhere batteries are only down to 80% after a 1000 cycles ??? Irrespective of time ?? ( if stored correctly, ie at 50% but I always store mine full and have only noticed a drop in range in cold weather ??)

Is flattening battery in 90 mins or so any more detrimental than 3 hours or so ? I cant see any reason why, after all the maximum draw is unaffected, you can just do it longer/ more often...if you are fit enough. Infact if you picked a very hard route ( ie a long hill which kept your max aided...
