    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

And you've taken a measurement from the battery with a voltmeter, reading around 40Volts. I wouldn't give up on the battery yet. You should get some reaction from the motor from a reading of 40V, so long as the cables aren't broken and either the throttle, or the pedal sensor is working...

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

Well, maybe the problem is now either the sensor, or motor - as that's all that is connected. Try reconnecting the throttle and disconnecting the pedal sensor.

    Electric Bike Stopped Working........ Help!!!!

Chris Remove throttle and power display and both brakes. Leave just the pedal sensor attached to the controller and see if the motor fires-up.

Any advice on the correct ebike to buy?

Brian The front wheel drive could be unwise on gravel, rear wheel drive would be more suitable. Also, with the battery mounted so high up on the bike you may find it a little akward compared to having a battery behind the seat tube. Otherwise, a fine brand which we are thinking of stocking in...

New, confused and needing advice please!

Hi Nic I can recommend E-Motion in Swindon as a dealer near you, who has a range of bikes worth trying and who has a Juicy Classic in stock. If you think the FreeGo bikes handled your terrain well enough, then ours definitely will too. Atmosphere in Bristol have no stock of our bikes at this...

    Hi All

Hi Graham Best thing about electric bikes and the wonderful trails we have in Derbyshire, and all over the country, is you don't have to use them! In summer they get far too busy for my taste and I prefer to go up and down the hills and lanes, into the villages and away from the hordes. You'd...

Import duty is 6% on built bikes and kits. You then add on the delivery cost and finally VAT is added to the whole total, at 20% Yep, you may as well get a kit from a uk supplier....

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

Good advice, and I should have made that clear - make sure everything is dry before you switch on.

    Convert a Pashley Guvnor

That's a lovely bike Robert. To convert it would be quite a task - you'd need new front forks, wider than standard and that fit the Pashley frame, likely to be difficult to source. More importantly, the look of the bike would be completely spoiled by adding a front wheel kit. My advice is...

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

Wisper support is excellent - give them a call before you start any dismantling. If you do start to investigate, start by checking the battery out of the bike. Use a multimeter to check the output. Then disconnect the peripherals at the controller, leaving just the crank sensor. Add...

    First E Bike advice ...

Hi Stephen We have a retailer in Dublin who could let you try one of our bikes. Merlin with a 16ah battery might be ideal for you, however it would be quite a trek south. 16ah on Merlin should take an average person 50 miles...

The company in Stoke (I'll have their details tomorrow) charged around £60 for a similar kit that we fitted to one of our Sports.

    Converting Specialized Hardrock, Some questions!

Yes, I like that! I'll look out the details of the crank extender -a company in Stoke - which enables one side (or both) of the crank to follow a shorter radius and so reduce movement of the upper leg. Clip-on pedals are also useful to help pull up the crank on the reverse stroke, helping the...

    Converting Specialized Hardrock, Some questions!

That kit should be fine for you. We recently had a customer with very similar requirements as you who found some very useful crank extender kit, made in the UK, which we added to his bike. He is about to post a review, so I recommend you watch out for his experiences. Another chap on these...
