    BBS02b Failure

As the motor is in line of fire from the front wheel, some sort of shield would go a long way to reduce ingress I think.

    40T Chainring from Precialps

I should have said I already I have a Precialp 42T on my FS MTB for about 1400 miles with no issues. It was the muck getting jammed part that was my concern and the thinner casing after filling. Very occasionally a piece of gravel gets trapped with the 42T item but it is easy to dislodge. I'm...

    40T Chainring from Precialps

Has anyone used this 40T chainring from Precialps, as opposed to the 42T item ? At the bottom of the ad it says "Please note the use of this chainring requires touching up of around 1mm at the crankcase (see picture) " .......which sounds a bit iffy to me...

Replacing BBS02 locknuts with a nylon insert nut

My issue was a bit of "creaking" after a few rides using bottom gear and full power off road. Re torqueing the lock nuts would temporarily solve this but it happened a few times. I was about to make/fit a bracket like the luna one but as said I discovered a small amount of play between the...

    Yose Power Triangle Battery Dimensions

Oh dear, unfortunately I have a medium frame. The dimensions in the picture do not show the distance from the right angle to the hypotenuse which is what I was after.

Replacing BBS02 locknuts with a nylon insert nut

In addition to the above, my motor had a slight clearance inside the bottom bracket so I applied some Blue Loctite (semi permanent) to fill this and it has not budged at all.......although I have not had course to remove the motor so far so do not know how difficult this would be.

    Yose Power Triangle Battery Dimensions

Can anyone help. I'm considering replacing my Hailong underslung battery on a Voodoo FS mtb with a triangle battery like the Yose Power 36v 20Ahr below, but need more dimensions than shown in the link. Has anyone got one of these, or something similar, and able to supply more dimension...

    E-Bike Rolling Road !!

In past videos the presenter does and continues to push the dialog along far too quickly for most and details are missed etc. but it is usually fun to watch.

    E-Bike Rolling Road !!

I saw this on my YouTube feed and thought it may be of interest..... and a bit of fun once testing starts. Ray, who made the rolling road, is a bit of a tinkerer and has done a few conversions before.

Help! BBS01 help required with programming

I had a similar problem a short while ago, the original seller even sent a replacement lead which still did not work so I tried the one in Fordulike's post and it worked a treat.

    Rechargeable heated gloves

The best way to keep anything warm is to keep the wind off. Motorcyclists have been using the bar mitts for years with great results and often can wear summer gloves in the depths of winter with bar mitts to protect the hands. I would try a pair of mitts like these as long as they have a...

    Chain Durability 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 speed

Thanks for the reply. Normally with mechanical items as long as the component is not overloaded and breaks, a increased load leads to increase wear so find it hard to dismiss the test results. I agree that the loads will be higher with a mid drive ebike but how much higher is down to endless...

    Chain Durability 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 speed

I'm still fairly new to ebiking so please forgive me if this has been covered before, a quick search didn't reveal much. There have been several posts saying that chain drives with a lower number of speeds are more robust as the chain is wider and will last longer. However, a bit of Googling...

Review Bafang BBS01b 250w DIY fitting - traps, pitfalls and review

Yes, my ebike conversion has also got me back into cycling too, it is a great match for hilly West Wales. I must admit I didn't fit hydraulic brake sensors for over a year, the brakes were fine and easily able to overcome the momentary drive after stopping peddling. However, I was finding that...

Review Bafang BBS01b 250w DIY fitting - traps, pitfalls and review

I have also used metal epoxy, same as JB weld I think, a few times and always carry some when on a motorcycle trip, very handy stuff. My ebike conversion has a "pad" of it between the Bafang motor and the downtube to help spread any load transmitted to the frame. Being solid it should prevent...

Review Bafang BBS01b 250w DIY fitting - traps, pitfalls and review

Sugru comes in small sachet's so one wastes very little. When I attached the brake sensor I also moulded some around the inlet and outlet of the gear sensor too as a precaution against water/dirt ingress. The advantage over epoxy is that it you can mould it into whatever shape you desire and it...

Absolutely, just have a look on youtube. I've also used it attach mini DRL's to a motorcycle and extend a mudguard on the emtb.
