Of course you can change tyres. There is always a risk when you buy second hand goods, but in this case you would buy locally, so you get a name and address. Just make sure you finalize deal through Ebay so you have a proof of purchase. I would also ask for a receipt because bike should be...

Apologies, I am so biased, no matter where I look I always end up with mtb :) I use mtb on roads, trials, canal paths.... everywhere to be honest. Trouble is there are not so many hybrids available around. Maybe a new would be an option? You have a very healthy budget.

I don't experience any problems with cornering. You present yourself as a passionate off road cyclist. If I might offer a suggestion, I would recommend new mtb tyres. Tyres you have are more suitable for delicate leisure use.

Do you know expression "right tool for the job"? Les is not looking for hard core mountain ride and we try to tailor recommendations to his needs while you are entrenched in your views and keep on with motto "mid drive is the best". BTW riding in a forest is not a challenge. It is a pleasure...

That is what they want you think. They write lengthy T&C for a reason. From Direct Line insurance: "If reflected as an Electric Bicycle, a Bicycle propelled by human power with pedals, but Page 19 assisted by an electric motor of no more than 250 watts maximum power output; such electric motor...

It is not that it is unsuitable. More like an overkill. Hybrid bikes by nature are designed for roads and delicate off road cycling. Hub drives offer better reliability and lower cost and are good enough for roads/delicate off road. Having that said I can't wait to convert my bike with mid...

Can I confuse you a bit more? Look for hydraulic brakes or cable disc brakes. It is cheap to upgrade to hydraulic. Mid drive is not a good choice for a hybrid IMO I would go with rear hub as firs choice. Front hub as second and mid drive as third. You have a very healthy budget. Keep...

It is an ignorance at best or scam at worst. One would think British Cycling knows something about ebikes.

Are you happy with small print? Each time when I read through T&C I just give up. Example from British Cycling insurance: " (7) E-bike (Electrically assisted pedal cycle) must have pedals that can be used to propel it, the electric motor should have a maximum power output of 250 watts or less...

    Bike lock Idea

So what is the plan? There comes an opportunist thief. He looks at your bike and thinks: - Wow! A bike with no lock and no chain on. This is my day! He jumps on, and after 20 meters he can't ride anymore because derailer is broken?
