    Carrera E replacement.

Not sure if the 48v controllers will take 15s 55v as you could series 3x5s and get away with using a standard 6s charger. Zippy make 7s lipo's but are expensive and you would need 4 to make a 14s 52v - 10ah or 11.6ah (£240) battery and an 8S charger for them which also isn't cheap (£120)

Unfortunately I can't help with 48v as I am only a 36v controller person. Maybe start a new thread about using them with 48v and I may also learn something from it. However, start browsing hobbyking website and check the UK icon when listing sections.

Inside the bag. I took this pic about a year ago when planning the idea. Thats 37v 10aH graphene lipo's just fit in there.

    Hollowtech Crank

Oh, will do that. Thats why I thought there should have been some plastic endcaps with it. Also, do you leave that plastic screw piece in the left side after tightening the crank arm?

    Hollowtech Crank

I know they are called Hollow-tech and the clue maybe in the name but are they supposed to be left "hollow" like this? Or are they supposed to have some sort of plastic bungs in the ends?

If you learn how to use them they can be quite cost effective. For example Hobbyking currently have 10ah 6s+4s multistars on sale, so thats a 37v 10ah battery for £85+del

I will give it a go next weekend, but being a 260rpm motor, will 2x6s not make it spin too fast for it's own power and reduce torque? also as d8veh mentions above controller heat could be a problem.

After more riding about I decided the small 15a controller was a bit weedy so changed it for the 17a one. This brought the bike to life and gives that bit of a kick when accelerating. While only being 2a more it is physically a larger size so probably has larger components to give that extra boost.

Alternative battery holding idea's I had - This was my favorite which I had planned a few years ago and holds 8ah graphene batteries, but unfortunately I am too short to use it (never thought of that). Next I thought this one spoiled the look of the bike, but could have a short wire straight...

It is 6a blocks 10s lipo's at the moment. The good thing about that saddle bag is it unrolls and can fit my 10a 10s graphene lipo's when I start using it further and it will look just the same.

Finished weight without battery is around 14 to 14.5kg (varies using my old weighing scales) Just been out for a short test ride. I used the 15amp controller for now. It will pull me along at 20mph with 36v battery along the flat if I unrestrict it. Frame size appears just right for me. Gears...

    Thought I'd Broken My Frame

I still have a smile on my face when pedaling hard particularly in gear 7&8 how smooth it is now.

It's about 8 to 9 inch long and 3 inch wide. It's just a very old one I seem to have had in my garage forever and now I've found a use for it. I got the idea from d8veh 's build http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/lightweight-trekking-bike-build.28276/

Yes, sorry I'm working cramped with little space in the garage and then it's dark in the evenings when I get home so I'll get it outside and post some better maybe finished photo's this weekend when I can hopefully give it a good test ride too.

The finish is pretty good, I degreased first then did 2 coats although I don't know how long lasting it will be against the road dirt and grime yet.

Same rims, I blacked around the edges with one of those paint pens recommended by @Fordulike in another thread. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/tip-for-touching-up-bike-scratches.29194/...
