Sorry Rob but my Cube has a 9 speed 11/34 as std & I fitted a 12/36. Those range extender sprockets you recomended are for 10 speed cassettes ! And stupidly expensive. If and when I need to change, I'll consider a 9 speed hub gear but at the moment I'm running two sets of wheels/cassettes.

I can't add much more tha I've already said. Yes it's a little easier up hill, going a little slower for the same peddle speed but with more torque. For me it's more noticeable pulling away from a dead stop whilst on a climb, I have arthritis and can't stand on the pedals for more than a few...

How about asking nicly at the point of sale " I'd like this bike but with those tyres" It worked for me when I brought my bike. I had the OEM tyres swaped for Big Apples, no exgra charge as the OEM tyres were new and just went on the shelves for re-sale. Simples

Nice one on the crank bros tool Dave, that will replace all but my mini pliers (handy for pulling out thorns etc) the addition of a chain breaker makes all the difference :cool:
