    Brexit, for once some facts.

The Italian, Spanish and Greek people are paying to save migrants from drowning then hosting them on their soil, building shelters and feeding them. And there you are saying their economies are a mess and they have too much debt and the Euro is a bad idea and the EU is a bad idea... The reason...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

If you were reading Italian or French or Spanish newspapers as well as English ones maybe your world view would be different? English news sources are saying what you want to hear and a strong Euro and a healthy EU are not good news for English readers (or for your American overlords). Why...

    New front forks?

You will feel the difference especially in dosing the braking power. I have given up doing stoppies, it seems to disturb people when men over 60 behave badly on a bike  And the weight saved over a disk brake is about 200 g. a wheel IIRC.

Maybe the EU should devote a little bit more of its budget to explain to people all over Europe what it actually does.

    Solar to Charge your e-Bike

I park my bike inside for safety reasons, not much sunshine inside... ;) I agree with D8ve on the wind issue, I live on the coast and wouldn't be able to ride quite often with a full wheel not to mention being passed by trucks on the main road. And it will also attract attention, maybe the...

    New front forks?

You could save yourself the bother and put a Magura HS11 (or 22 or 33) hydraulic brake on the front. What brakes does it have? I put an Avid single digit 7 on the back because the Tectro was starting to show its age. Those two brakes stop a fully loaded 23+ kg bike and trailer no problem.

News: Momentum Electric launch VIT-S on Kickstarter

Don't forget the double chainring on the Yamaha motor, very important where I live. And Giant also make the Quick-e+ which does have mudguards and a panier rack for less than 3000€.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

M.Farage was elected as MEP to defend the interests of the people in the constituency he ran for. No companies in that constituency needed research grant funding and it didn't need infrastructure investment money from the EU apparently? They just wanted an MEP to work as hard as he could against...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

My point is the people from the eastern countries have many reasons for leaving and looking for work in the west. Money is one but it isn't the only one, neither is unemployment rates in their home country in my example. If you have people working in the UK for £3 an hour and taking work from...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I will continue with the story of my Moldavian neighbour (in Moldava unemployment is 4% compared to France's 10%): His employer is Basque. The Basque people are proud of their country and heritage and relatively hostile to outsiders (coming from a rugby nation helps counter that hostility in my...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Executive summary: The EU uses its budget to redistribute funds to where they are most needed. Often places left by the wayside by their national governments. And for you that is a bad thing? If you don't apply for funding you dont get it. And that is somehow the EU's fault according to you...

    Battery leap on the horizon

I still haven't gotten over acid having splashed all over my Lancia Fulvia 1.3S's engine compartment. Does that answer your questions? Something should have been done to save such a beauty :( I blame the battery manufacturers!

    Battery leap on the horizon

Look how long it took them to go from vented batteries which used to spew acid all through the engine bay to sealed gel type and yet the sealed gel type had been available in the maritime sector for years. A high discharge lithium battery is pretty easy to make but would cost a lot more than a...

"Historical reasons. The first predecessor institution, the Common Assembly of the European Coal and Steel Community, met in Strasbourg because it could not be accommodated at the seat of the European Coal and Steel Community in Luxembourg. This developed into today's European Parliament. Most...

You mean a "contrôle technique" (TVA = VAT). They did try and thousands and thousands of motorbike riders blocked motorways and city centres until the project was abandoned. That is the French way but then you should know, you live here don't you?

    Battery leap on the horizon

Sorry but you still start your vehicles with old technology because the companies making them make more profit than they would if they used modern technology. Don't believe me? Go ask Elon Musk...
