Help us build a better Ebike battery

Well that is a bit ambiguous isn't it? On the standard document it says: "This European Standard does not apply to: lithium cells; batteries other than lithium ion types; primary Batteries(including lithium types); batteries covered by the ISO 12405- series." For me the battery supplying the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Now that you have a keel you could keelhaul the committee that designed a state of the art warship in 2004 tying it to a 2004 operating system. How big was the envelope that MS slipped to them to make them do such a stupid thing? Of course back then they were still crowing the "death of UNIX"...

The most efficient way of having more energy is to carry a bigger or second battery. Then you could carry your own power station, Escher has a couple of good ideas you could try:

    Need for speed

He has a 48 V battery so does have 1050 W on tap. A 36 V Q128C wheel would get down the road pretty smartly with that controller and battery if they are compatible.

Look around you. See all those zombies eyes glued to their smart phone? Does that help you understand that modern propaganda is much more dangerous than the old flavour? Those big data manipulators scare me silly. They are only in it for proof of concept, they don't care whether the extreme...

But he was in 2nd and 3rd gear. Back in the day on the hub motor bike I could climb the 2.3 km 7% hill on the way back home at 25 km/h average in 2nd and 3rd if I was in a hurry. The battery didn't like it much though... If I sat down and used 2nd and 1st and stuck to around 16 km/h I never...

No, I am shopping for cells to make a battery, no criticism only curiosity. The flicker back to life on the way down is the bit that interests me, it is called battery sag. I live on the western end of the Pyrenees but used to be able to se Aspin from my terrasse in the Gers I do have a couple...

    Mushy brakes

I have a hydraulic front v-brake and mechanical rear with HW brake switch. This setup is good enough to prevent me from needing/wanting disk brakes. I agree with d8veh, hydraulic on the front will give you better sensation on the mechanical rear also. You can of course improve cable etc, I...

What cells are you using? Doesn't say on the web site. I would say to the OP if you climbed a +7% average gradient col in 1st gear you should get more range. You would be going a bit slower of course, I aim for around 10 km/h which is about 100% faster than if I was on an ordinary bike!

But with rising sea levels will they be able to get it back under again? Will the next one make it under? XP was the first MS operating system I found reasonably usable. As long as you don't connect the computer to the internet. I have seen computers running XP pwnd before the end of the...

Organic Transit - Elf solar electric trike

Doing the math again: A 48V charger's max voltage is 54.6 V at 2 Amps normal charge that would require 109.2 Watts so you will be charging at 1.8 Amps (which is very good) so you will need +8 hours of VERY bright sunshine and 100% efficiency from the roof to charge from empty to full. If you are...

I read the lygte-info test of course. Cycle life is only 300 which in a worse case scenario works out to about 10,000 km or 0.016 €/km thanks to the 2.20 € discount per cell!
