    Hardtail with 3" plus tyres? Cheaper, less weight to lift onto a bike rack, fewer moving parts to go wrong/ maintain, more grip, more stability IMHO

    Thanks. I'll buy a flat one and when I get the spider tool I'll take the sprocket off to see how I might use a spacer. One concern is that from my investigations it seems an 8mm rather than 3mm offset is needed. But all may become clear when I disassemble. If anyone has had to replace this...
