Thanks guys. The clicking/ticking noise is very regular - I counted 20 per revolution. Its similar in sound to the rear wheel but louder. When the motor is on, the noise stops. I think it must just be a feature of the hub motor. I got the bike online and there nearest store is over 2 hours drive...

I think it woud be good to have sections based on manufactrurer as when I was choosing a bike, it was a slog to do a search for the name and then find the post not really that relevant. I think manufacturer specific forums could help users get answers to their bike-specific questions easier...

I was recently sent a brochure from Powabyke and it shows the rocket launcher battery , same as on their web site, so I think its just an old stock photo. I think Powabyke probably dont try too hard to get retailers to update their photos as its probably in their benefit.

Sounds fascinating! Would be interested to hear how you intend to fix it to the bike and perhaps some pics, if you'd be kind enough to oblige!

What's your alternative solution? Presumably it doesnt involve the original batteries??

now youve retired your powabyke, what have you replaced it with? Also, as you mention the miles, is this an estimate or did you have a computer on it? I have heard its not possible to put a computer on the x-byke as the forks are too far from the wheel.
