    "Cheating"

I do have to admit that I feel a bit of a cheat when I pass obvious "die hard" cyclists going up a hill on my way home. I've actually been known to hold back and not pass them.

A working dongle - at last

Bought one after reading the review (and getting some reviews translated by a friend on foreign sites). I'm of the opinion that if the restriction was at 20mph i wouldn't have bothered, but it always seems to kick in a little too early. Possibly if it was 20mph, I'd be saying 25mph though...

Terrifying near miss at level crossing

How refreshing? I have to disagree. I have a close friend who is also a train driver who has been off now with injuries and stress caused by an accident on a crossing. The people in the car are no longer here to accept responsibility for their actions.

Terrifying near miss at level crossing

As a train driver, they're virtually fail safe. Nothing can be 100% tho. It's down to idiots like this we have problems. I think it'd be hard to find a driver who has been on a few years that hasn't had at least one incident similar to this. Many haven't been so lucky not to hit them. I have...

    Clipless pedals

No, but thought I'd just be able to wear any shoes in the future, SPD or not. Looks like it'll have to be SPDs or ones with a fairly solid sole. Or maybe keep a pair of shoes at work? I'll see how I get on with them. If it becomes an issue, I'll just stick them on my Trek non-electric. I only...

    Clipless pedals

Pedals fitted. Have to admit didn't realise the clip would stand a bit proud to the flat pedal. Just ordered a pair of DZR midnights, they look similar to my normal footwear. Roll on Thursday when they're supposed to arrive. I'm just off to see if we have any plasters ;)

    Clipless pedals

Just having a pair of 647's fitted at the moment (while the bike is in for a slight fix). £42 fitted. Saves me finding a spanner! I know absolutely nothing about clip less, just thought I'd give them a try, especially as my feet slip off my present pedals occasionally. I'm hoping I'm a...

    Another new Bosch unit derestrictor

Did you end up getting one? The link doesn't seem to be working for me now

New ebike magazine coming out on 23rd September

Just read it on my laptop. Pity it needs flash as I use my phone for internet 10x more than my computer. It's a good read. The Audi bike looks cool. I want the Haibike on page 53.

I can't see it due to it needing flash player. Oh well

    Another new Bosch unit derestrictor

Great. I didn't want to be the guinea pig ;) Hope it's good, I'll be putting an order in if it is. Taking the crank apart for the other kit isn't something I'm willing to do. I'm useless with mechanics. (Bit worrying as I'm a train driver!)

    Another new Bosch unit derestrictor

To be honest, couldn't see what the problem was with the 15mph thing until I actually got one. I've noticed that I always seem to be riding in the 15-20mph range when I look at the speedo. Maybe that's because it's easy to get up to 15mph due to the assistance and then I can keep it just above...

    Kudos Not Impressed (Resolved)

When I decided on mine, I tried getting the smaller size. After reading info on sizes I got the one I thought was too big. With the seat on the lowest setting I can put my toes on the floor, not my flat feet. When I come to a stand, I get off the seat and straddle the crossbar, my feet can be...

So I've tried a few but still confused

First real issue with the bike. The wiring loom for the rear dynamo LED lighting runs under the rear mudguard, through a hole in it and then is cable tied to the pannier rack and into the lights. It looks extremely neat. Unfortunately, the rear mudguard has quite a lot of "bounce" to it...

So I've tried a few but still confused

I'm actually not sure what people would call fast I suppose. I took both the koga and the Scott out today. Down a hill at 25mph and the Scott would still push hard in top gear. On the Koga, my little legs were spinning like mad. To be fair, I'm quite happy at 25mph. I just know I used to ride a...

So I've tried a few but still confused

After 2 weeks of ownership, have to say I love it. I've used my old Scott Navajo a few times for work (very very few times!) over the last few years and detested the ride home. My left knee couldn't take the hills and I walked the last mile. I now get home with no trouble The main thing I'm...

So I've tried a few but still confused

Well, I've gone for it. My local cycle shop lent me the bike for a while and I did my route to work and back and the roads around where I live a few times. The times I've taken my unpowered bike to work, I've ended up pushing it for the last 15 to 20 minutes. It's all uphill, starting gradually...

So I've tried a few but still confused

Well I spent all night last night searching Bosch crank driven bikes, due to the fact it was my favourite of the four and most like riding an unpowered bike and also the best for getting up hills IMO. It seems that there isn't a great deal of price difference for this bike (50Nm Bosch with 400w...

So I've tried a few but still confused

I've only tried 4 bikes but for me their was a clear winner Giant (cant remember which model) Trek Valencia Wisper Koga E-lement I actually set out to test the Wisper, it wasn't for me. I'm quite a large fella and I just felt cramped on it. Also I couldn't really get on with the drive...
