Using existing wheel on hub conversion

Thanks both. I wanted the weight advantage that the q100 would give. I was also considering a Tern p18 and that would not work with a cd kit. Lastly I wanted the possibility to switch it back to a normal bike as easily as possible just in case I want to ride it as a normal bike. I think the...

Using existing wheel on hub conversion

I'm considering buying a Cute Q100 front hub for a Tern P9 I'm considering. I was just wondering if it's possible to implement this in an existing wheel? The Turn wheels have a white rim so ideally i don't want to make the bike look odd and change this. Thanks :)

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

How did you find the size and folding ability compared to your Dahon? On the weekend i went to Halfords to have a look at some cheaper folding bikes and found they were really awkward to use. They didn't have a Dahon or Tern to compare against but from what i've seen they seem a lot easier...

£1K for something special or a bit more if I can get it on the Cycle Scheme.

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

Sort of - I'm about 90 miles away. Possibly something i can do at some point next month. I'll be honest though that ideally I want to test a few bikes before making any decision. Thanks

I don't want to be rude but I'm asking about advice about a bike not my personal life. I can't change my personal situation and I'm not going to write exactly why things are as they are.

D8veh if it was that easy don't you think I'd do it? The nursery opens at 8 am - I can't drop them off earlier. There is no other childcare that I can use. I don't intentionally make my life hard. ☺ Cwah tbh unless there is a jobsworth at the station I'd only have keep is folded on the actual...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

The problem is that on my way there two thirds on my journey is down hill and using your calculation I would lose 45 seconds. That's quite a bit when my whole journey is just 5 minutes. I need an electric bike with decent enough gearing that it's not that much of an issue. I have no idea if I'm...

cwah, they're some nice bikes and seem to be well thought out. I'll take a proper look. You're also right that maybe leaving a bike at the other end could be a good idea. d8veh, the reason for the time frame is i have to drop the kids off first. By the time I get out it leaves me about 8...

Heh, not even sure I have a view at the moment. I will definitely try it - though it may have to wait a few weeks until I'm free on a Saturday.

I have to say that Tern P9 looks very nice though. Basically though I'm only going to get it to weigh pretty much the same as Kudos Secret. The Zephyr however weighs 21KG which is quite a bit more - i imagine mainly down to the suspension which I didn't even realise it had. On this size of...

Thanks - I appreciate the honesty. I'll try the Whoosh bike as Southend is convenient for me. I'll probably try a normal folding bike too just for a comparison. Trex, I only really want pedal assist - not really sure I'd use the throttle. Thanks for the info on the chain ring - that could be...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

I'm not looking for a competitor to a Brompton - just a foldable electric bike that i can take on the train that is reasonably small. While most people seem to use Brompon's, you get people with 20 inch Dahon's too. The official rule the train company has is only that the bike has to be folded...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

KudosDave, what size is the bike folded? I intend to store the bike by the doors of the train carriage which is where most people seem to store their Brompton's. I guess it just need to be small enough to not get in the way and stable enough not to fall over. I'll have a look at testing a...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

I should have made the journey clearer - it's basically on the way to the station two thirds of the journey is pretty much downhill ranging from 5-15% decline which is where I normally make the speed up . The last part of the journey is a ~20% hill which is where i really want the electric part...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

Trex, I'm quite new to all of this so not really sure how those technical specs relate to real life experience. Before i've just seen a bike that had at least 21 gears and bought it. With my current bike I travel at 20mph on straight roads and quite a fit faster down hills but always being able...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

I'm looking to purchase a folding bike, probably on the 20" size. The intention is to use this at least intially to cycle to the train station 1.5 miles away that has hills ranging from a 5% to 20% incline - there are no flat road. The beginnning of next year i'm considering taking the bike...
