    Son of Segway....

Perhaps what we need is a solar version and a network of epowered vehicle paths. It can all happen if we want it to, considering the £££$$$£££$$$ sums used to prop up the banking system a few thousand miles of e-paths is not a big deal just need to find the will .... if we could get the city...

    Sympathetic vibrations (noisy motor)

Not easy I suspect. I read a recent motorcycle review that had vibration through the footpegs that a very similar version of the bike didn't and it came down to the foot peg hangers acting as a tuning fork in sympathy with the engine, only fix was a redesign of the footpeg hangers :(

    Alien hub motor kits

I'm having success with the 24V version on some hilly areas, not sure what the 36V version gives you over the 24V perhaps more acceleration and a lower motor current? Running the 24V motor at 36 Volts would allows me to get useful drive at 20MPH rather than the current 17-18MPH as this would...

    24V Alien installation

Flecc thanks for the comments it did turn out rather well.. This is the 24 volt kit that comes with a battery and battery bracket that attaches, in my case, to the seat post. The bottom of the battery bracket forms a small box when the supplied side panels are attached and this is where the...

    20inch 24volt Alien kit

It was easy to fit for my bottom bracket, I had to remove the crank to fit the magnetic ring sensor, just pushes on the shaft and the lock nut on the bottom bracket had to be removed to fit the pick-up. So for this type of bracket you will need a crank tool about £8 and a "C" spanner £? Not...

    20inch 24volt Alien kit

Yes "The Maestro" has it. I got the sensor and magnet ring with my kit so since I was having problems with my bottom bracket, fixed the sensor at the same time as the bearing repair. Did my first commute today, max speed I can maintain without breaking a sweat on slight undulation is 16-17...

More info about the Alien 24volt 20inch installation in my Dahon Speed D7 folder: Took the bike up and down a hill, total distance 3 miles average speed 13 MPH, max speed 25.5 MPH. This was in max throttle down the hill and pedelec mode up the hill for the majority of the time (just gave it...

    Two position throttle

Hi, Inspired by the throttle of the Cytronex I was wondering if anyone has built a similar device? I would like to have a two speed setting, low speed optimised for max hill climb support (on a 20inch folder) and one at max speed. I'm thinking I could use the throttle input to the...
