    Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel

    The version with rear rack and roller wheels is about 15kg. The fat tyres do look 'cool', especially for social media posts etc, but they are a bit thin. I have fitted Marathon plus 20x1.75 tyres, adds about 500g to bike weight but I wanted good puncture resistance. The supplied Schwalbe...

    Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel

    Well, I have one, and it does ride very well indeed. More like a full sized bike really, completly different to a 16" Brompton. Much much better on pot hole infested roads. Its not as good in commuter bike mode, as in carrying on trains and busses, as the 16" Bromptons, but it still folds...

    Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel

    If there were a generic slide in style electrical battery\controller connector pair it should not be difficult to fit it to one of adapter plates that allow stuff to be connected to the Brompton bag block.

    How does that bag deal with the electrical connections ?

    Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel

    Well, I built it that way so that the battery\controller bag could stay in place when folded for rolling around shops etc. Also if you keep the bag small the bike does not really look like an electric. Not sure I have seen a separate clip on clip off battery\controller bag, that you can buy, in...

    Hex ratchet driver for 15mm ring spanner

    Its a shame you dont seem to be able to buy that ratchet insert (see first post) seperatly, it would be a useful addition to the toolkits I have on the Bromptons. I dont normally carry a ratchet driver, a simple angled one like below is OK for out and about use; On the Bromptons I have...

    Hex ratchet driver for 15mm ring spanner

    As per the original post; "What interests me is the small insert you can put inside a 15mm ring spanner to turn it into a ratchet hex driver" I have seen the possible alternatives, including the ones you posted, but I am trying to source the part shown in the first post, its been seen in other...

    Hex ratchet driver for 15mm ring spanner

    Like I said; "I was not looking for alternatives" If anyone knows of a source for the ratchet insert, shown below, then your comments are welcome;

    Hex ratchet driver for 15mm ring spanner

    I was not looking for alternatives. Finding small ratchets is easy enough, there are all over eBay and Ali and they are cheap. I already have a couple, including the one in the original Brompton toolkit. But I like the idea of the ratchet insert for a 15mm spanner and if they were available...

    Hex ratchet driver for 15mm ring spanner

    Brompton have recently released a puncture repair kit that can be used with their electric and non-electric 16" bikes. What interests me is the small insert you can put inside a 15mm ring spanner to turn it into a ratchet hex driver. Any ideas where you might buy that insert separately ?

    Met Police officers receive training to identify non-compliant e-bikes

    From my observations, if the rider of an eBike is carrying one of those square food carriers on their back, there is a very low chance that the eBike is legal. You could train police officer to be aware of that issue in just a few seconds, no need for a 5-day course.

    Recommendations for Electric Bike Insurance

    But are the policies worded like that in error, as in the Insurance companies dont understand the actual regulations, or is the wording deliberate in order to fool people and provide the insurance companies with a get out clause ............

    Recommendations for Electric Bike Insurance

    Thanks. mmmm, for say £9000 cover, 3 bikes 2 of which are electric, they want £220 per year, with £5m liability cover. Not low cost. However they have this caveat, which suggests a potential problem; On the Go-Compare website there is a similar disclaimer for eBike insurance;

    Recommendations for Electric Bike Insurance

    The tyres and tubes I have seen are stated as 406. The supplied rims are tubeless ready, if you want to convert to sticky stuff instead of tubes.

    Recommendations for Electric Bike Insurance

    I wonder if we will see front hub conversion kits for the G-line ? I did some tests on my front hub motor eBrompton, and it was difficult to detect the amount of drag there was, from the motor, when the eBrompton was used un-powered. A 8 speed G-Line with front hub motor and the removable...
