I was interested to find out what power difference the PAS levels of a KT controller gave, since my mates expensive bike has eco(30%) trail(50%) and turbo(100%) and I wanted to compare.
So connected up my battery with the speedict BMS which has built in live WATT meter readout to work it out.
I thought the power levels would be equal increments so the results were interesting.
A 15a controller gave:-
PAS -- amps ---- % --- Fraction
..1 - - - - 2 - - - - -13 - - - - 1/8
..2 - - - - 3.1- - - -20- - - - -1/5
..3 - - - - 5.5- - - -33- - - - -1/3
..4 - - - - 7.6- - - -50- - - - -1/2
..5 - - - - 15.2- - -100- - - -FULL

A 20a controller gave:-
PAS -- amps ---- % --- Fraction
..1 - - - - 2.8 - - - -13 - - - - 1/8
..2 - - - - 4.3 - - - -20- - - - -1/5
..3 - - - - 7.2- - - - 33- - - - -1/3
..4 - - - - 10.1 - - - 50- - - - -1/2
..5 - - - - 20.0- - -100- - - -FULL

Figures are there or there abouts.

Hi Awol,

I wonder if you could compare battery usage statistic of your bike against your friends' bike?

I thought everybody knew that? In fact for EN15194 level 4 is 100% on a 15 Amp controller and level 5 is 200% or "boost" or "turbo" or...

Thats interesting because come to think of it, the 15a controller is actually a 8a controller capable of 15a max and the 20a controller is actually a 10a controller capable of 20a max so on both controllers PAS4 is actually 100% of the nominal rating and PAS 5 is 200% of nominal.

He has a 460wh battery 36v, if I make up some 10s lipo's to match, what amp's do I need to make up? also nowhere states his max current rating.

Multistar? About 16 Ah = 12.8 Ah Li-Ion (80% of what is printed on the packaging).

In theory 100%. I Plugged the Watt meter into my 10.4 Ah bottle battery and emptied it and it gave just about that 373 Wh IIRC (who's counting the 10th of Ah?). It was still charging to 42v at the time now it is good for 41.7v.
