In the winter I use my hope ones fastened to the fork stanchions right at the top (being careful not to bottom out the forks) and find that although they are effective here they tend to create deep shadows over bumpy terrain. The brackets wont fit over the fork leg as these do, but at least they are off of the bars leaving room for a third light bar mounted.I'd like to see that. Any pics please?
I've got a couple of fork lights coming to see if that issue can be rectified 'off road'. They were ultra cheap, I'm not expecting miracles from them. However, 'on road', I was very happy with the performance of this new cree headlight. No-one flashed me and it did a good job of lighting the way and clearly showed my presence to other road users.

I'd stick with the first light its much brighter than the second.Curious, I caught a break in the rain.
I had to think twice then.I'd stick with the first light its much brighter than the second.

As I see it lights serve two purposes..
To light your way and to be seen by others, so however much or little these light your way they will definitely make you more visible.
I have a similar 3 lights configuration and am told that when in the woods I look like a flying saucer coming in to land..
I have several of those. You have to check that it says T6 LED and not Q5 because there's several versions. There's a velcro clip that you can find on Ebay for 99p. If you have two of them and set one to near and the other far, they light up the road quite well, though they can't match the 3000 lumen one on post#1. Their main advantage is that you can use them as a normal flashlight when not on the bike.you can get some good deals on 18650 flash lights if you can find a way to mount them.
