I've noticed Lidl are selling 20 volt 2ah cordless drill battery packs for £12.99. That seems like a lot of battery for the cost and they are in a good sealed unit. Do you think it would be feasible to link these in series and parallel to form a modular battery like others have done with dewalt battery packs?

I've no idea what cells they have inside but they are labeled as Li-ion.

The DeWalt packs have high performance brand name cells in them, some of the 18v 4 Ah ones even use 20700 cells now.

There ae 5 x 2000mah no name China blue 18650's inside.

The 3ah pack uses the same no name brand but 10 x 1500mah 18650's.

Don't waste your time with them. Those sort of cells are really cheap now. It would be much better to get modern cells with high capacity and high discharge rate, which will save a lot of weight
