Turning the Cogs is a research project tasked with gaining a better understanding of how cycling events can be more inclusive, by understanding the barriers some riders face trying to get to the start line and the ‘friction points’ they can experience when taking part.
The research team are hoping to reach a minimum of 3,000 riders globally – those who enjoy cycling – but are under-represented at cycling events.
The research is a digital survey, taking 10-15 minutes to complete, to help Turning the Cogs “ build a comprehensive evidence base” to lead to change.
The researchers behind the survey say: “ It doesn’t matter if you’ve already participated in an event, are an experienced racer, or have never had an interest in cycling events. We want to listen to the experiences and thoughts of as many cyclists as possible, so together we can make events inclusive for the full spectrum of riders. We would love to hear from e-bikers too! ”
