Raleigh has joined forces with Bosch to create the Motus electric bike, which will be available from spring 2014.
The company say the Motus allows for electrically assisted journeys up to 190km on a single charge. The electric bike comes in two frame options, a cross-bar and a low-step through, for easier mounting and dismounting.
The Raleigh Motus features a Bosch Active Motor with long life 400Wh battery, Magura HS11 hydraulic rim brakes and SRAM Via Centro 10 speed gears with a wide ratio range to suit long climbs or “nipping along the flats”.
Richard Dobney, Raleigh Electric Bike Product Manager: “We are very proud of what we’ve achieved with the Motus, it’s our no-compromise e-bike and will surpass expectations in any department; climbing, braking and pedaling have never been so easy.”
“We have long been championing electric bikes as the answer to many of the worries that stop people from cycling, and we’re now starting to see more and more bike shops plugging into the idea. We know that once people ride an electric bike for the first time, something clicks and they are instantly converted.”
The Raleigh Motus retails at £2000 and will be available from Raleigh stockists.
