Yamaha Easy, battery swap

Featured Replies

I recently acquired an old, but serviceable Yamaha Easy from a friend. Both batteries, not surprisingly, are pretty feeble now. I have had a quote for a lithium recell in the existing case but it means getting the bike to London from North Wales. I want to try and understand if it is possible to ditch the existing battery setup and fit a new 24v lithium battery on the rear rack and connect this to the wiring harness. I am reasonably diy proficient but no electrical engineer so if anyone can talk me through this in layman’s terms I would be most grateful, plus it would give me another project in these strange times!

The bike model is the X99.
