Hi all, I recently purchased a used Scirocco privately but battery has died, has anyone purchased a replacement battery through ebay, I’ve tried woosh e bikes ( very helpful) but unfortunately they are now discontinued, I Have sourced two different companies on ebay, one in China at £232 for 36volt 15.6ah supposedly with Samsung cell 26H, and another company in Poland 36volt 11.6 both are the aluminium cases slide in to back rack, I’m a little concerned I may not get what I think I will get, so any suggestions or verification on said ebay suppliers would be much appreciated, thanks in advance for your time, Carl.

Spotted this earlier today, might suit your needs, posted from Germany. There motor kits have become quite popular on here recently.

Describing woosh as 'very helpful' strikes me as very charitable given the 'help' amounts to telling you they can't supply a battery.

This has been a recurring problem with cheap ebikes for years, the batteries only last two or three years then spares are not available leading to the scrapping of an otherwise perfectly good bike.

How old is your woosh?

I suppose no maker can be expected to produce spare parts for ever, although Bosch say they will produce spares for at least seven years after the product is last made for original equipment.

Bosch batteries cost more than Chinese no brand ones, but they seem to last twice as long, so there's not much in it.

You don't need to fit the original battery. They're all 36v and have two wires, so you can fit whatever battery you want where you want. Most batteries come with the mount and charger so you don't need to worry about compatibility.

Totally agree with d8veh any 36v battery will work.

YSB appear to be reliable you get what you pay for.
200 odd £££'s will get you a working battery with mediocre cells, battery should be ok for 18months to 2 yrs if not over amped after that they start to looses capacity/range.
For decent cells over £300 will get you a better battery.

The 26H cell was an upgrade of the 26F cell but the stats don't hold up as well.
The 15.6 YSB uses Samsung 26H as well but will have 6 cells in each parallel string so will be better then the 11 or 13ah batteries with 5 cells in P. The extra 5amps in parallel will be kinder to the cells and less stressful, though battery will be a little heavier.

The 26H voltage sag is worse under load, in all cases 26F holds up better down to 3.3v.

Thanks to Mike, D8VEH & Neilh for your info, my scirroco is approx 4 years old, so guess batteries lasted ok, I have decided to use ebikebatteries.co.uk for re cell, Jim is very knowledgeable on battery types & styles, and uses only best quality batteries so am confident he will not disappoint, I will update on the return of re celled pack.

it is not so much that we can't supply a 36V 10AH rack battery.
We have 36V 10AH rack battery in a slightly different casing. We could have taken out the cellpack and put it in the old casing, but as I understand the situation, the old casing got some damaged plastic where the bolts go in. The customer would end up paying more for part + labour and still has an old case as opposed to just a new battery. This is why we suggested to get it from another supplier.
Alternatively, we could have supplied a 13AH or 15AH with a new controller box.
In his place, I would have upgraded the battery.

Here is the Sirocco battery:

this is the newer case:

13AH: with controller box £299
15AH with controller box: £349
